During this semester, I have had the pleasure of taking Dr. Fang Wan’s International Marketing course at the Asper School Of Business with Bradon K., Gladson Jaison, Sydney Ostir, Nathaniel Duncan, Presley Solar Mackay, and Joel Malmgren.
The past three months have been an incredible learning experience filled with teachings, class participation, and presentations where we learned the importance of critical thinking, communication, and of course the importance of marketing in the world of global business. An interesting concept we have learned throughout the course is leadership brands and how a person’s brand can influence their ventures, the people around them, and the larger business world. Together as a group, we decided to research and analyze two industry giants, the “Techno king” Elon Musk and the visionary Bill Gates, and how their traits as individuals and leaders almost predict their business ventures.
These three aspects not only feed off of one another but also help cultivate the essence of these individuals' identities in numerous companies, which helps elevate their brands from being ordinary to extraordinary, setting trends and dictating the future of the market. From our findings, we have determined that leaders such as Musk and Gates provide more than their talents and skills to their companies. They provide an intangible aura that is present in every single leadership brand, something that is unable to be replicated by others. Their brands are simply extensions of who they are as people, the good and the bad. A similarity they share is that they strive for greatness, albeit through different methods, but the end result is one where they have a successful brand that is leading the industry.
We wanted to share some of our key insights and bring more attention to the seemingly extraneous effects these polarizing figures have on the world. Let us know your thoughts and opinions in the comments below and what you took away from this post!
Thank you for being such an amazing partner!!
