More than three in five companies in India do not have career growth plans for their employees, Neil Ghai reports for The Economic Times, citing a survey by Deloitte. Promotions, networking and leadership opportunities are often not included in the career frameworks for employees, the report says. Dr. Neelesh Gupta, Director at Deloitte India, says that companies lack career growth plans, even though they have policies for promotion. Only around three in 10 companies that do have career growth frameworks share the same with employees, he adds. Companies such as L&T, BluSmart and Ikea India, that provide employees with career growth plans, say such frameworks are necessary. The survey was conducted in 157 firms across three sectors — manufacturing, services, and pharma. Well this is quite unfortunate to read that only few organisations obey the rules and majority are ignoring the government rules to promote skilled workforce across India, the country of talented people. From the newspaper report it's evident that only 3 out of 10 corporate companies in India have transparent career growth frameworks for their employees. This shortfall in providing a clear path for career progression is glaring, especially in sectors like services, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals. The lack of holistic career management frameworks in 7 out of 10 companies is concerning and exposes a critical gap in organizational development. The absence of career growth plans in over 60% of Indian organizations highlights a significant issue that needs urgent attention. Employees deserve better opportunities for growth, including promotions, training sponsorships, mentorship programs, and leadership development initiatives. It's essential for business owners and management to prioritize employee well-being and career advancement rather than engaging in fraudulent practices that harm their workforce. Government and law agencies must step in to penalize companies that exploit employees and engage in unethical practices. Revoking licenses of such organizations is a necessary measure to ensure accountability and protect the rights of workers. Addressing this issue is not only crucial for employee satisfaction but also for promoting a skilled & motivated workforce, aligning with the vision of Prime Minister Modi's Skills India initiative. Implementing robust career growth strategies can lead to higher retention rates, increased productivity, and overall organizational success. It's imperative for companies to tailor career paths to individual employees' aspirations and provide opportunities for continuous growth and development. By prioritizing employee well-being and investing in their futures, companies can create a more supportive and thriving work culture, ultimately benefiting both employees and the organization as a whole. #jobs #employment #job #company #companies #organization #work #culture #aitrends #aiadvancements #aiforgood #aiforall #robotic #softwaredevelopment #rpa #softwaresolutions #futureleaders #aifuture #futureofai #facerecognition #facialrecognition #learngenerativeai #generativeai #expertscorner #ai #robotics #tech #software #linkedin #beyou #technology #deeplearning #secure #aiforall #robotrevolution #roboticsinnovation #roboticsengineering #roboticautomation #bestadvice #roboticprocessautomation #iris #detection #testing #innovation #appreciation #contribution #virus #attack #problem #hacker #learning #industry #growth #boundaries #respect #team #fraud #ethical #mindful #student #niche #college #market #competition #honest #scam #deepfake #authentic #change #innovate #imageprocessing #feedback #cyberlaw #programmanager #methodology #classroom #students #class #manager #complex #advanced #models #learn

📢 Calling all IT Professionals in India! 🇮🇳 🌐 Are you aware of the current hiring challenges faced by IT consulting companies in our country? Let me shed some light on the subject for you. ⚡️ 🔎 One of the major hurdles faced by IT consulting firms in India is the scarcity of skilled talent in the market. As technology continues to evolve at an astounding pace, the demand for expert IT professionals is skyrocketing. Unfortunately, the supply is struggling to keep up with this growing need, resulting in a competitive job market. 💼 Furthermore, the industry is witnessing a constant struggle to find candidates who possess a perfect blend of technical skills, domain knowledge, and the ability to adapt quickly. The requirements for various IT consulting projects are diverse, ranging from software development and data analytics to cloud computing and cybersecurity. Companies often find it a challenge to find candidates who match their specific project needs. 🌍 Moreover, management of IT consulting companies has been grappling with the increased competition to attract and retain top talent. Employees in the IT sector are constantly being lured away by lucrative offers from both domestic and international players. Retaining skilled employees has become crucial for companies to maintain long-term growth and ensure client satisfaction. 🏫 The situation becomes even more challenging as academia struggles to keep up with the constantly changing technology landscape. Many graduates lack the practical experience and updated skills required to meet the demands of IT consulting projects. Bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and industry-ready skills is a pressing concern for organizations in the IT sector. 👥 So, what can be done to overcome these challenges? Collaboration between industry and academia can play a pivotal role in closing the skill gap. IT consulting firms should actively participate in upskilling and reskilling programs to enhance the talent pool in the country. Additionally, they can focus on attracting and retaining talent by offering competitive compensation packages, professional growth opportunities, and a supportive work environment. 💪 As IT professionals, we have the power to tackle these challenges head-on and shape the future of the industry. Let's join hands to bridge the skill gap, encourage innovation, and foster a positive environment that attracts and retains top talent in India's IT consulting sector. "Don’t come to India with your domestic mindset,” says BCG’s Neeraj Aggarwal. “Embrace the local, embrace it fully.” Doing business in #India is not for the faint-hearted. It’s a big country that demands big ambition. But #CEOs today can learn from the mistakes of those who’ve tried before and been disappointed. These five actions can help CEOs successfully unlock the country’s many burgeoning opportunities. https://lnkd.in/gtnD3vpW #TheCEOAgenda

Sharing, one of the best articles that I have read in the recent past and could not agree more on what's troubling the Indian IT.. Generating a revenue of 245 USD Billions (Equivalent to GDP of countries like Qatar, NewZealand..) Providing direct employment to ~5.43 Million (Equivalent to population of countries like NewZealand, Norway..) This kind of scale and size is mammoth by any standard. It helps to put India as the Technology and Knowledge Capital with an immense potential to further grow. We have IT companies of various sizes and read a lot of news about struggles in continued growth and momentum. There are several factors ranging from customer willingness to spend to macro economic factors, matured IT practices to frequent advancement in technologies and more. I want to share my personal views on the core issues that are generally internal to the organization. People Management – The employees are the assets to any IT organization. This industry involves a lot of brain power. When people move around, and especially in masses like what we saw in 2021 and 2022, it definitely has a big impact. Delivery Capabilities of the Organization: There are 3 important attributes to successful IT Delivery Management – Delivery with Quality, Meeting Timeline, and at the Right Price. In most of the scenarios, organisations will find problems in these parameter which will be directly proportional to the quality & quantity of man power they have. Executing the Strategies Correctly – Chase your topline or your bottom line and you cannot ride 2 horses at the same time. Do you want to invest in product building or consulting building capabilities while being a typical Service Organization? Staying on top of Technology Advancement – Lifespan of technologies and applications are shrinking from decades to few years. Lot of buzz and difficult to keep the manpower trained in the right skills. Effective training and execution is easier said than done. So what do we do about these problems and how about deep diving on a few? The shared article throws good insights and am also planning to pen down my thoughts in the next set of posts. Stay tuned! #ITLeadership #IndiaIT #ITServices
