How Remote / Hybrid Work Is Shaping Career Development? 👨💻 📉 The two years of COVID-19 have dramatically transformed the world of work. Many organisations have adopted a hybrid work model, with some employees working remotely, some in-person, and others splitting their time between the two. 🤔 This new norm means traditional career development strategies for fully onsite teams may not be as effective in a hybrid work environment. We were honoured to have the opportunity to discuss this topic with a future-focused CIO - Tracey Evans MAICD on the latest episode of Tales from Tech Titans airing tomorrow! Interested in charting a career path in tech? OR Curious about ascending to a C-suite position in the industry? An interesting episode of the #TalentHunters series from MRINetwork. Hosts Vince Holt and Rick Hermanns talk with former Florida Governor Jeb Bush about the impact of remote work on career development and office culture. A good CRM can report on number of calls made, emails sent, emails replied to, and so forth, but tracking productivity involves much more than that. What tools are you using in your workplace for managing remote team members?
Exciting Talent Hunters Episode: Gov. Jeb Bush joins HireQuest Inc. CEO Rick Hermanns and host Vince Holt to discuss Remote Work, Hybrid Models & the Future of Office Culture. Remote work, return-to-office mandates, and hybrid models remain some of today’s most critical workplace topics—and we are honored to have Gov. Jeb Bush join us to discuss it from his point of view. While remote work offers undeniable benefits, some challenges—especially for young professionals entering their careers—are coming into sharper focus. Unlike established professionals who transitioned to remote work with robust networks, younger workers are missing out on key in-office experiences that build culture, camaraderie, and career growth. Many companies went fully remote without fully weighing the impact on long-term business health and employee development. So, what’s the best path forward? Governor Bush dives into what leaders need to consider when deciding between in-office, remote, or hybrid models, and shares his insights on building workplace flexibility that doesn’t sacrifice team cohesion or organizational strength. Don’t miss out on this important discussion with valuable takeaways for leaders navigating the future of work! https://lnkd.in/dtayW9r2 #TalentHunters #RemoteWork #HybridModel #WorkplaceCulture #Leadership #FutureOfWork

As someone passionate about career development, I’ve seen firsthand how critical the early years are for building momentum. Here’s the truth: 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀. Why? ✅ 𝗠𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀: In-office environments allow spontaneous learning from seasoned professionals. Overhearing a negotiation or watching how a manager handles a crisis? Priceless. ✅ 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 = 𝗢𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆: Being physically present puts you on the radar for projects, promotions, and mentorship. Out of sight often means out of mind. ✅ 𝗡𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀: Casual coffee chats, hallway conversations, and team lunches build relationships that shape careers. These moments rarely happen over Zoom. Remote roles 𝗰𝗮𝗻 work for seasoned professionals with established networks. But early on, 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽 accelerates growth. Offices are classrooms where soft skills, company culture, and industry nuances are absorbed. I’m not dismissing remote work’s flexibility. Remote work can be more affordable, due to no transportation and rent costs, and all. But if you’re just starting out, ask yourself: 𝘈𝘮 𝘐 𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘵-𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘮 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘭𝘰𝘯𝘨-𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘮 𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘵𝘩? What’s your take? For those further along—what doors opened because you were “in the room”? 💬 #CareerGrowth #EarlyCareer #ProfessionalDevelopment #Leadership

I transitioned from campus into employment during the Covid season. 🌍 This meant companies were shifting to remote work, and as an introvert, I loved it! Working remotely felt like the perfect setup for me. At the time, I struggled with poor communication and interpersonal skills. Remote work gave me a sense of security—there was no pressure to engage in face-to-face interactions. My go-to excuse during departmental meetings was, "My microphone isn't working," and I was perfectly fine saying nothing! 😅 That was until one day when our departmental lead asked my team leader to help me "fix" my mic issue. Haha, the jig was up! 🎤 I recently shared this story with my team during a communication and public speaking training I facilitated last week. It was a reminder of how far I’ve come and how much growth happens when we step outside our comfort zones. Looking back, I’m grateful for the journey and the lessons along the way. Sometimes, we need that gentle nudge (or mic check!) to push us toward personal growth. What’s a moment in your career that helped you grow? 🚀 #CareerGrowth #CommunicationSkills #PublicSpeaking #RemoteWork #PersonalDevelopment
