I woke up at 6 am the other day to a notice that our newest office supply client wanted us to deliver two tractor trailers worth of photocopy paper in Montreal ASAP. This was significantly more than we had originally thought we’d be delivering. Scale and size are all relative, so for our sister branch in Montreal, getting two extra tractor trailers on a drop of a dime is no easy feat. But everyone knows AlmCrown likes a challenge, and there’s nothing that wakes you up more than an impossible feat. So I pulled some strings, made some calls, and found a way. Rush jobs are always stressful, and this particular client comes with a variety of logistical complications. But it’s also the nature of our industry. While they may receive numerous similar calls daily, is that a justification for being impolite or even using profanity? How I Got an Urgent Pallet from Northampton to Carlisle in 5 Hours! You know those jobs that come in where the clock’s already ticking? This was one of those. We got a booking at 11:15 AM urgent pallet delivery from Northampton to a team of contractors working on a school in Carlisle. Sounds simple enough, right? Except it had to be there before 5:30 PM because the contractors were packing up for the day. No pressure! Here’s how we made it happen: 1️⃣ First things first—get the booking info spot on. Before we even confirmed, we made sure all the details were in order. No room for mistakes when time is tight. 2️⃣ Next, find the closest driver. We pinpointed who could get there the fastest and got them on the road ASAP. Timing was everything! With the driver en route and our team keeping everything on track, we managed to get the pallet there with time to spare. Crisis averted, contractors happy. Job done!
