More can be done to compete with China's critical mineral complex. The GAO's recent report on critical mineral recovery from non-traditional resources goes to show the potential to secure America's supply chains at home. One way to expand critical mineral supplies is through leveraging existing assets such as coal fly ash and pairing it with American innovation. The hard part is deploying capital towards these endeavors. The GAO recommends three key policies to support innovation in this space: government support such as subsidies, Pilot Good Samaritan legislation, and clear community benefits arrangements. https://lnkd.in/dWeizfc9

This is a perfect case study for pure idiocy in national policy making. Australia is a *producer* of minerals. Our own manufacturing is around 5% of GDP and towards the very bottom of a list of pretty much every country. What we *should* care about is the SIZE of market opportunity for each and every one of the minerals we *could* produce. Then we should prioritize which of those markets we actually care about. Now, we are, all of a sudden, supposed to care about Arsenic? Tell me, PLEASE Minister King why I, as an investor, should give a shit about producing Arsenic. It is like a $60M USD global market for the commodity. Why the FLYING FUCK does Australia care one whit about Arsenic? This makes no sense at all. This is the work of policy makers who left their brains at the door and decided to slavishly COPY the policy initiatives of CONSUMER nations. We are a PRODUCER nation. We hardly count as a CONSUMER nation. Our policy should differ as a direct result of that critical difference. Here is my policy suggestion for immediate implementation. SACK every last person in the Australian Government working on critical minerals policy development. Just GET RID of them! Sack them all. They clearly have not got a clue. Start with a blank sheet of paper. Here are the right lists to compile: 1. What is the commodity gross world product by mineral? - trust me. you can do that. I did that in 2010 using USGS and other data 2. What is the commodity resource potential of Australia - look it UP. Geoscience Australia has already done that. 3. Which countries buy which mineral? - a bit harder, but you can work that one out too. Now. Let's remember that you just SACKED every useless policy maker you had on the payroll. Great. That was necessary, neigh ESSENTIAL. Now, you have some GOOD DATA and you can make INFORMED DECISIONS. Go to work. Figure it out. Stop wasting the taxpayer money and resources. Just work it out. Pretty please. JUST TRY. #BadGovernment #IdiotPolicy #DeadGovernmentWalking. https://lnkd.in/gWz3vjgB

First Critical Mineral Shipment From Port of Churchill in Decades. For the first time in over two decades, an export shipment of Critical Minerals has departed from the Port of Churchill. The zinc concentrate shipment marks a significant milestone in Arctic Gateway Group’s work to revitalize the Hudson Bay Railway, diversify the Port of Churchill, and seize the opportunity to further develop Canada’s Arctic trade corridor to global markets. https://bityl.co/RbGO
