Congestive heart failure Does congestive heart failure limit your recovery? Our LTAC hospital can help. Here's why: Traditional hospitals are great for acute care, but for congestive heart failure (CHF), you might need more specialized long-term treatment. What is CHF? CHF is a condition in which the heart weakens and struggles to pump blood effectively. This can lead to shortness of breath, fatigue, and leg swelling. This is where our LTAC hospital comes in! We're designed to provide intensive care for CHF patients who need extended recovery time (usually 20-30 days). Our focus: - Stabilizing your condition: We have specialized staff and equipment to manage your CHF and co-existing conditions. Rehabilitation: We aim to strengthen you and improve your daily activities through physical, occupational, and speech therapy. - Education: We'll empower you to manage your CHF at home with self-care techniques and medication management. If you or a loved one has CHF and needs a higher level of care than a traditional hospital can offer, ask your doctor about our LTAC facility. #LTACHospital #CongestiveHeartFailure #Recovery #CardiacCare #landmarkhospital

A recent study published in the Journal of Oral Rehabilitation (2023) sheds light on a potential connection between Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome (UARS) and chronic headaches. UARS, a form of sleep-disordered breathing often overlooked or misdiagnosed, may be contributing to increased headache frequency and intensity in affected individuals. If your patients are presenting with persistent headaches despite traditional treatments, it might be time to consider evaluating for UARS! By broadening our diagnostic lens and exploring the potential impact of UARS, we can enhance our understanding of chronic headaches and provide more comprehensive care for our patients. 🙌 If you want to understand the system for recognizing and treating these disorders, join us for our next Mini Residency in September! You'll leave this comprehensive training course with an understanding of how pain and sleep are connected and why you need to understand one to treat the other. Find more info, including registration details, by clicking the link in bio! Let's begin a discussion below! Have you experienced these comorbidities among patients at your practice? @tmjsleep #DentalSleepMedicine #InterdisciplinaryCare #drkristinawolf

My last post received a lot of attention & exposed some significant cognitive bias to try & deflect from what it was really about. People were jumping to defend the room while ignoring what the room was being used for. It was really about the bolt-to-the-floor bed (Norix ATN120 or similar) designed for high-risk areas relating to 'behavioural health'. This bed is NOT suitable for diagnosis & treatment. It is too low (15 inches tall) & inaccessible from all sides. Using it in an ER is DANGEROUS to both the patient and staff. Yet that is what it is being used for. If you missed (or tried to deflect from) that one key fact, time to take a long hard look at yourself. Imagine you are a disabled or geriatric patient (with difficulty transferring). Imagine you needed bloodwork and an IV (access to two arms). Imagine you need a full examination. Is that happening with a nurse or doctor on their knees? Original post: https://lnkd.in/gUk63pvK
