🐸 Why is ‘job-hopping’ seen as a negative? Research suggests that changing job roles every 1-3 years is the most effective strategy for boosting your income rapidly. This is due to employers typically allocating larger budgets for hiring than for retaining existing employees. Shouldn’t these candidates be commended for having the courage to chop and change to increase wealth and knowledge? Let us know what you think 👇 #NewJob #SalaryBoost #JobHopping

Candidates are comparison shoppers. What's going to sell them on your company? Workers have more choices now than ever before. They can choose: - where they work - how they work - who they work for - how much they work for - what time they work Companies can no longer rely on high pay, good benefits, and flexible schedules to entice top talent because those "perks" are now considered standard offerings. So, again, how do you get candidates to choose YOU? ➡️ Offer them a fulfilling career. Consider these stats: 💡 33% of workers are willing to consider lower pay for a more fulfilling job 💡 64% of workers want fulfilling work (only 28% want engaging work) 💡 70% of workers would consider an offer for a more fulfilling job 💡 69% of execs are seriously considering quitting for a job that better supports their well-being Truly, a fulfilling workplace is THE differentiator. Companies that prioritize employee fulfillment will win - and win big. Does #jobhopping *actually* hurt your career prospects? In the past, job-hoppers might have been labelled as unreliable. But attitudes about work are changing. 🔎Over 40% (nearly half) of employees are currently seeking new roles. 🦘And 54% (more than half) of employers believe a person can job-hop without hurting their career. As a result, job-hopping isn't as stigmatised as it once was. In fact, half of employers agree that hoppers offer diverse #skills and perspectives. 💥 But it's not about 'hoppers' vs 'lifers'. Both are essential in modern workplaces to create stronger and more diverse teams. Plus, even a 'hopper' could turn into a 'lifer' under the right conditions, such as pay, culture and flexibility. Is loyalty to one company the secret to career success, or are we entering an era where frequent job changes are the new norm? In a piece by Tania Griffin for African Business Quarterly Publication, a heated debate is unpacked – loyalty versus rapid package growth. While some argue that sticking with one company over years builds a solid career foundation, others believe in seizing fast financial advancements by changing jobs often. From an employer's perspective, the high onboarding cost of frequently changing employees is worrisome. And for individuals, while immediate financial gains are tempting, they might come at the cost of long-term stability. #CareerGrowth #JobHopping #ProfessionalDevelopment

Breaking workplace menstrual stigma with Bloody Marvellous Menstrual Workshops, to boost productivity & profit, and create an inclusive environment your staff would hate to leave! 🎓Educator & Speaker 🧠 Autistic ADHDer
In my 20's (not so long ago😁), landing a new job came with an unspoken understanding.... 👉 You should be grateful just to have a foot in the door. ❌ Onboarding was minimal, if at all (here's your desk, good luck) ❌ And benefits went as far as free coffee from the crappy click-button coffee machine. Fast forward to today, and I'm pleased to see shifts in the dynamics of the job market, changing the way both candidates and employers approach the hiring process. 2024 is the era of the savvy job shopper. No longer is it a one-sided affair where job seekers are solely tasked with impressing potential employers. Instead, it's become a two-way street where employers have to market themselves too, just as they do in the consumer world. Candidates now come to interviews with a new mindset – they're discerning buyers evaluating not just the job, but the company itself. They're looking beyond the job description; they're seeking a workplace culture that aligns with their values and a company that invests in their growth and well-being. Employers take note! 👉 Your organisation is not just offering a job, but presenting a proposition. Candidates have become empowered decision-makers, they're looking beyond the pay check for a partnership. And it's up to you to make that partnership appealing. Share and showcase your - Mission and values, Unique selling points, Employee development schemes, AND 👉 Commitment to mental health and wellbeing! And this is where Bloody Marvellous Menstrual Workshops can help you. If you are an employer seeking top talent, remember... ➡️ Valued employees give value! So get in my DMs today to find out more. #WorkplaceCultre #HumanResources #WorkplaceWellness #MenstrualWellness #JobMarketEvolution

The New Year brings change and that certainly is the case on the job market, 85 of my connections have changed jobs in the last 3 months alone! The markets are opening back up, jobs are being created and filled and the need to retain staff is more important than ever. For those companies who have lost great talent - understanding your employees aspirations, career goals, personal goals and life circumstances is what will enable you to increase retention rates and stop those christmas resignations. I personally moved 3 times (Once, the new role meant I had to hand my notice in on Xmas eve! 😓) for both an increase in remuneration and the challenge of the work. This happened at times when I was doing well, because I outgrew my roles quicker than the business was able to scale or the opportunity that came along was too good to turn down. In this case, the market offered me a 22% pay increase (I would have been a fool to turn it down) Generation Z have grown up with access to a wealth of information and opportunities that us and our parents could only dream of - the future generation are likely to have some of the shortest tenures and be the biggest 'job hoppers' we have ever seen. Understanding your staff is more important than ever! Over the next few weeks I will be releasing mini articles on employee retention as well as Generation Z - the future of our workforce - so stay posted! #newyearnewjob #hiring #generationz #talentacquisition #talentretention

Strategic Planning Career Architecting - agency/client/consultant/start-ups US/UK Empathy Awards since 2014 Empaths = understand people/can connect Author - 'Getting Positive.' Positive outlook = Solutions optimal.
In the current job market there seems on balance to be more employees being let go than being hired. That said, even in an unsettled jobs market, more than ever, employees have been chosing to walk. When this repeatedly happens, this should be a blinking red warning light, that agencies can't ignore. But why is it happening? In a highly competitive jobs market, it's essential that individuals keep building expertise not only to keep a current job but to maximize chances of a successful career move. Smart employees get this. They are actively managing their careers. Every career move an individual makes will (whether they know it or not) be about growth, on some level: For money, connections, craft, responsibility, for more tangible results to be able to talk about! The greatest danger for the individual is when they face stagnation - or, no clear pathway to any progression in either the near or medium term. And you have to ask yourself a question, if no-one is able or willing to help your growth, on some level atleast, you're probably very vulnerable to the next round of lay offs... So get proactive!! To be clear about this. Most important, where possible, give those you trust in either line management or HR, the chance to help you get the growth (new client/new training/more money) you seek. Then when you do leave, you'll have pursued perhaps the easiest pathway to growth while at the same time having no regrets, should you put those walking shoes on. #Careerprogression #ContinuedLearning #Blindloyaltyisdumb https://bit.ly/4bdizJX

Before you offer your employees a counter offer, make sure to fix the conditions that made them want to quit in the first place. The top three reasons why employees leave companies are: 1. Because they dislike their boss 2. Because there is no career growth opportunity 3. Because they were offered a better job with better salary and better work conditions. Read this very insightful article 👏 👌 about what some companies are doing to predict employees who are high retention risk and proactive steps they are taking to reduce attrition. #employeeengagement #employeeexperience #attrition https://lnkd.in/gVFat_Jd

2wFewer hiring managers are impressed with job hoppers, it's important to show some meaningful length of service on a CV to be gauged on performance and loyalty. Job hopping is a short term method of increasing salary, then it creeps up and bites you on the backside:) Just saying......
