The Curiosity of Learning The Curiosity of Learning is heightened through Knowledge acquisition, Communication, Collaboration and Relationship Building. Visiting the newly established Charterhouse Lagos brought back fond memories of my own school years. However, there is something quiescently appealing about this institution that places the child at the centre of the educational experience by embodying all of #Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences. The singular most important and prized investment one makes is in Education hence the importance of life-long learning as a Duty to Self. This begins in infancy with the exploration of the immediate environment, to later acquiring #Critical Thinking and #Analytical Skills. Global Citizenry and Human Capital Development requires confidence and curiosity enhanced by #Integrity, #Self Respect, #Engagement, #Compassion, #Empathy, Learning and Innovation, and most importantly value addition to Self and society. How different would you be if you had access to this learning environment? #Education #Curiosity #Lifelong Learning #Duty to Self #Innovation #Value UK in Nigeria John Todd FRSA, FCCT Angela Hencher Stanley Evans MBE Derrick Cobbinah Savvitas

While the goal is to equip students with comprehensive knowledge, excessive content often leads to: ✅ Incomplete Learning: Students struggle to grasp essential concepts due to rushed teaching methods. ✅ Mental Strain: Both students and teachers face burnout, leading to reduced productivity. ✅ Lack of Creativity: A focus on rote memorization stifles innovation and problem-solving skills. ✅ Missed Life Skills: Overemphasis on academic subjects leaves little room for critical life competencies. How Do We Fix This? 🔹 Focus on Core Skills: Prioritize depth over breadth to enhance understanding and retention. 🔹 Incorporate Life Skills: Combine academic content with practical abilities like communication and critical thinking. 🔹 Empower Teachers: Provide flexibility and training to foster innovative teaching approaches. 🔹 Engage Stakeholders: Involve parents, communities, and policymakers in curriculum reforms. By addressing these issues, Somalia can transform its education system into one that nurtures creativity, resilience, and holistic development. 📢 Let’s work together to reform and build a balanced education system for the future of Somalia! I discovered from the course that, countries like Phillipines, Argentina and Malawi, amongst others places have low resources, even lower than we have in Lagos state Nigeria and also grapples with large population in their class and yet active learning occurs with the teacher's using different innovative ways and methods to reach the learners leveraging on their different backgrounds, instilling collaborative skills and an overall wholistic learning situation. With my learning experience, I've experienced a paradigm shift: No more complaints of my learners don't have literature books, how then do I learn, if I can have my copy, with the new insights from this course, the class is a success, HOW? ONE TEXTBOOK IN A CLASS OF 80-90? Find out how in the course and be enlightened, visithttps://lnkd.in/e2wWtxMG Nigeria is even better than these sisterly countries, so if their teachers can thrive, why shouldn't I, it's a new dawn in my teaching career. #resuming better impacting learners much better#
