Nominations are now open for the 2025 Superintendent of the Year Award, established in 1984 to recognize excellence and achievement among district leaders in Texas. School boards that want to have their superintendent considered for the award are encouraged to submit a nomination packet to the regional ESC by Friday, April 18. Schools rely on governors to support and challenge the leadership team; agreeing and overseeing key decisions that affect schools. Life is complex in education at the moment, budget pressures, changes in society and the changing political landscape make this all the more challenging. Could you offer your help and support to a school leadership team? Maybe you have expertise in finance, HR, legal, leadership development, coaching, project management, H&S, operations management or recruitment background? All professional fields add value to school leadership teams who are governed entirely by volunteers. Could you dedicate one term (usually 3 or 4 years) to support a school? North Florida College students Margaret Boyd and Logan Linton have been named to the 2024 All-Florida Academic Team. This prestigious designation recognizes student Phi Theta Kappa members within the Florida College System for their outstanding academic achievement, leadership and service to the community. Students are nominated by their respective colleges to the All-USA Academic Team. This year’s team of 150 students were recognized during the American Association of Community College’s annual convention on April 8 in Louisville, KY.
