Shout out to my professional network 📢 Have you ever considered volunteering but not been sure where you could add value? Schools rely on governors to support and challenge the leadership team; agreeing and overseeing key decisions that affect schools. Life is complex in education at the moment, budget pressures, changes in society and the changing political landscape make this all the more challenging. Could you offer your help and support to a school leadership team? Maybe you have expertise in finance, HR, legal, leadership development, coaching, project management, H&S, operations management or recruitment background? All professional fields add value to school leadership teams who are governed entirely by volunteers. Could you dedicate one term (usually 3 or 4 years) to support a school? In reality, this is somewhere around 6 meetings per year so not a huge commitment but the difference it makes is pretty huge 💪 Please feel free to get in touch with me if you would like to discuss (I work in an academy Trust but also support elsewhere as a volunteer) or reach out to your local education Trust or Local Authority for advice on how to become a governor. #futureofeducation #governorsarekey #givebacktoschools #volunteer #education
School governors support the improvement of educational standards so that children and young people have the chance to realise their full potential. Being a school governor provides you with experience of leadership at board level. To see where we have governor vacancies please visit www.bccet.org.uk/vacancies
