Whistle-blowers are beautiful people. They see a wrong and they are not afraid to talk about it, even when it means having more problems within their own culture and from neighbors and even family. Whistle-blowers speak out on principle, not convenience. Not to go with the crowd but to go with the truth as they see it. The only thing preventing a culture from extinction is coming from the self-correction within the culture. Whistle-blowers offer that self-correction. We hurt our cultural whistle-blowers to our own peril.
Re: "The False Narrative of Settler Colonialism," by Adam Kirsch in The Atlantic:" How can you justify writing "In these circles, Palestine was transformed into a standard reference point for every kind of social wrong, even those that seem to have no connection to the Middle East," as though Palestinian liberation needed to be transformed into anything at all??
The majority of nations are NOT trying to steal their neighbors' land by slaughtering their neighbors. Therefore, examples of attempts to 'settle' land belonging to another people, IN REAL TIME, are blessedly rare. Thus, yes, it IS a great example of settler colonialism. And no. Protestors are not more interested in 'every kind of social wrong' (though perpetrators of social wrongs do seem to be overly represented in certain demographic groups...) than they are in stopping the maniacal slaughter of innocent people. They want to stop the genocide of Palestinian men, women and children. Full stop.
If the Palestinian liberation movement happens to be inspirational for similar movements, don't misrepresent that fact as being some sort of secondary intention of those devoting everything they have to revealing the truth of Izraylee brutality and cruelty and making it stop, once and for all.
And, to put a finer point on it, recall that from the outset these 'settlers' have been MURDEROUS in their conquest of stolen land.
Please Adam, get a grip.

The output is only as good as how you prepare, set up, practice, collaborate and consider all the details.
Performance, in anything, largely depends on creating the most optimal environment and conditions for success. In all the years of working is design and helping to build resonating, impactful brands, I have always shared with my teams the incredible importance of pre-production. Taking care of all the details, setting everything up for the most effective, beautiful and engaging output.
This too applies to setting ourselves up for our best performance and, while, as it relates to apparel, this has largely been focused on performance wear for athletes and those engaging in an active lifestyle where performance of the apparel is key (gear for extreme weather, gear that allows full movement, gear that allows breathability, moisture-wicking, non-chafing etc), it has not (largely) translated into performance wear for your best, most supported and considered performance as a teacher, a lawyer, a CEO, a business leader, a TV presenter, particularly as a women.
The clothes that women wear for all of these roles and so, so many more, need to be as carefully and thoughtfully designed as the performance wear for a runner, a climber, a dancer - because, setting up for success, the pre-production, of getting dressed each day, should be that thoughtful, that easy and that considered. For the best, strongest and most successful performance possible. behind the desk, at the boardroom table, in the courtroom and in the TV station.
