Continuing the exciting momentum we're seeing in the philanthropic world, this fascinating article from Wealth Briefing highlights that 77% of US family offices support charities by giving them access to their aircraft, and that 44% of them say they support the Corporate Angel Network, which is a US-based 501 non-profit organization working with cancer patients to get best treatment by the use of free travel on corporate aircraft. Separately, 16% of family offices surveyed say their budgets for philanthropic causes have increased significantly over the past three years, and 47% said they have increased slightly. #philanthropy #familyoffice https://lnkd.in/eNUygbaG

This week’s #TourTipTuesday comes from Aaron Kelemen, Tire Track Qualifier and Captain of Team ENMAX. As a 7-year participant, he is no stranger to asking for donations, but admits it took time to learn how to fundraise successfully. Take note of Aaron’s Pro Tips: 1. Take the time to ask everyone individually. 2. Be direct, share what you’re doing and ask for support. 3. Never share the link until you get a “yes”. 4. Think of something you can provide in exchange for donations - Aaron offers guitar lessons and asks for a min donation to his fundraising page instead of charging a set fee. 5. Fundraise year-round. It takes time to reach the goal so get started early and keep asking. Use Aaron’s fundraising tips to get yourself to the start line, earn a prestigious Champion Jersey or snag the last remaining Tire Track Qualifier spot - will you be the 10th and final qualifier for the 2024 Enbridge Tour Alberta for Cancer? Why do we do what we do? It comes down to our values. Whether or not you’ve identified your values, you have them. We all do. And companies are no different. When we know what we value, decision making is easier. Take, for example, donation requests. Companies frequently get asked for cash or product donations to support charitable causes, from the local little league team, to raffles raising money for cancer research. When you know what your company values, you can create a framework to decide which charitable causes you will support. For example, if you sell bird feeders, you might focus your donation efforts on the National Audubon Society and their Migratory Bird Initiative. Or, if you sell children’s books, you could support Room to Read and their commitment to developing literacy skills in kids. Values create clear guardrails for decision making. What we say ‘no’ to is as important as what we say ‘yes’ to, especially when we are voting with our dollars. Have you experienced a time when your values helped you make a decision? #CoreValues #DecisionMaking

In an increasingly digital world, card and board games bring us back to what truly matters - connection, communication, and fun. That’s why we’re delighted to announce Gamesium’s partnership with Speakers Trust, a charity dedicated to empowering young people to develop their communication skills in real-world settings. For every game sold, £1 will go directly to support their incredible work. At Gamesium, our mission is to create clever, fun, and beautifully designed games that are easy to learn and hard to put down. Much like mastering a game, learning to communicate effectively takes practice, and Speakers Trust provides young people with the tools and confidence to succeed. Together, we’re creating more opportunities for meaningful connections and lifelong skills. Let the games begin!

Like me, I'm sure your inbox is full of Giving Tuesday appeals, each from wonderful organizations. Overwhelmed by all the asks, the temptation may be to do nothing. Please reconsider for... ... the child receiving a diagnosis that changes not only their family for the holidays, but their lives are flipped upside down. ...the mama who spends nearly every moment in the NICU, praying her baby makes it another night. ... the teenager far away from friends, currently undergoing treatment for an eating disorder. ... the family who would be sleeping in their cold car if it weren't for the Ronald McDonald House. These aren't really hypotheticals. There are REAL people are are in these REAL situations this very second. If not for the Ronald McDonald House... ... the child with the diagnosis might not be able to have their family close. ... the mama might never get a night's sleep in a bed, let alone a shower, a place to brush her teeth, or a community to support her. ... the teenager might not only be without their friends, but also far from their family. ... the family would be sleeping in their car. YOU can make a difference RIGHT NOW. Choosing to keep scrolling will not change the reality of these lives, but choosing to give will help provide a free night's sleep, a hot meal, fresh clothing, and transportation for families that truly need it. https://lnkd.in/g6CHEXPD
This #GivingTuesday, we’re racing to raise $25,000 by midnight to unlock an additional $25,000 from generous supporters. These funds will directly support families staying close to the care and comfort they need during challenging times. Every donation gets us closer to this life-changing goal. Let’s rally together to show the power of community and compassion—donate now and make twice the impact: https://lnkd.in/ggysh-68 Together, we can make this happen! 💛 #GivingTuesday #ForRMHC #NonprofitLeadership

It was a pleasure catching up with Allan Grego on the Moneris Just Good Business podcast. 🎙 It has been 2 years since we last spoke, and a lot has happened in that time, both in the contactless payments space, and at tiptap . ⌚ Have a listen as we catch up on all the things. 👇 #Fintech #ContactlessPayments #GivingBack #Charity #NonProfit
One of the victims of moving to a more cashless society in the past has been charitable organizations that rely on people’s generosity during in-person donation opportunities.🤲There are many people who simply just don’t like carrying cash with them. For the past few years, we’ve been following the progress of Canadian startup tiptap as they’ve grown from a conversation-starting curiosity, to a fixture on many national charitable campaigns, and not-for-profit institutions. Al has a sit-down with tip tap Director of Sales Mark Jordan to talk about a couple of these national campaigns The Poppy Campaign and The Red Kettle Campaign to learn how tip tap has helped them bridge the cashless gap. 🎧 Listen now: http://spr.ly/6048SiQDr
