We covered a lot of ground that I believe can resonate with many of you on your professional and personal journeys. 🎙️ Here are three key takeaways from our insightful conversation: 🔑 Passion Beyond Work: Finding a passion outside of your career is crucial—they can offer fulfillment and a sense of identity beyond job titles and status. 💡 🔑 Self-Awareness & Communication: Embracing self-awareness can lead to more authentic communication and adaptability, making personal and professional interactions more meaningful and effective. 🗣️ 🔑 Life Beyond "Hustle Culture": The hustle culture can often overshadow personal interests and relaxation. It's important to create a life worth living beyond just work. 🌿 I'm enthusiastic about connecting and continuing this dialogue on here! If you know Chad & Cheese, then you know. And as the Big Man once said, if you don't know, now you know: Chad Sowash & Joel Cheesman host The Chad & Cheese Podcast, "HR's most dangerous podcast and the snarkiest of industry analysts.” It was a blast -- and most certainly *not* your typical interview -- for Debbie Tang & I to sit in recently where we talked everything from noodle-induced naptime (c/o Debbie’s family restaurant) to how one goes from #BigLaw ➡ #executivesearch to the main event: #DEI, boom or bust?? Leave it to DT to break it down: “It’s about culture. The culture of your work environment is more important than any other acronym that you give it… It’s not about the numbers; if you’re just going after numbers, you’re doing it all wrong.” Check out what she said and let us know what you think. What is a brave way to show up to diversity, inclusion and belonging? Create space to dialogue about it and explore how we each want to show up to it. Not just once, but often! This is precisely what Torin Ellis helped us build alongside 60 of our emerging professional business excellence students Towson University College of Business & Economics. So proud of the powerful questions and authentic conversation during our workshop in April. Be a commitment to continuing the conversation. What are some ways to do this? 1. Follow diverse cultural groups/causes/concerns on social media to learn more, become curious, establish connections. Tune into a podcast you might not typically listen to. 2. Evaluate the frequency of your interactions with and outreach to others who are different from you. Intentionally seek multiple perspectives, even if it stretches your comfort zone 3. Become situationally aware, invite and accelerate inclusive representation in your homes, classrooms, communities, workplaces, places of worship 4. Consider your next right move toward brave space. Thank you Torin Ellis, we look forward to continuing our dialogue with you.
