I often talk about the ecosystem required to build a new industry, which includes a vital role that governments play. Our US Federal Government and Federal Aviation Administration announced $300M in Fueling Aviation's Sustainable Transition (FAST) Grants, and I'm proud to share that LanzaJet is a recipient of grant funding to help us expand our production capacity of #SAF at our plant in Soperton, GA. Building new industry is hard and we’re committed to continuing our collaboration with governments and stakeholders around the world to ensure that SAF becomes the pivotal decarbonization driver for aviation that we know it can be - reducing carbon emissions, driving innovation, and enabling economic development. Special thanks to Reverend Raphael Warnock for U.S. Senate , US Senator Maria Cantwell, Office of U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff, US Congressman Brad Schneider, and so many others across US Congress and the The White House Biden-Harris Administration for supporting this critical new grant program to advance SAF production! #SomedayIsNow #sustainability #netzero #cleantech #infrastructure #aviation #FASTgrants

Back from a great first visit to The Labour Party Conference with the SASHA Coalition, where it was clear the government wanted visitors to know that they've been getting down to business - with ambitions to drive the economy forward and plug the fiscal black hole. But where does that leave shipping and aviation decarbonisation? Ministers insisted that decarbonisation is central to achieving this government's missions, bringing good jobs and energy security. This was great to hear - but now to the hard work of delivery! Here are a few reflections on where the government should start: ✈ Prioritise the right solutions: the government has indicated an early commitment to decarbonise aviation, for example including the SAF Revenue Support Mechanism Bill in the King's Speech. We need to make sure such measures focussed on growing the UK SAF market prioritise the fuels with the greatest potential to reduce emissions - e-fuels - over less sustainable SAFs (and are funded by the industry itself). There's also a policy and regulatory gap around the adoption of zero emission aircraft that needs to be filled - which our members have shared some views on below. 🚢 Maritime needs a kickstart: compared to aviation, we've got a much lower starting point for the maritime sector! An updated Clean Maritime Plan is urgently needed, with clear overall and interim targets for UK shipping emissions and plans for an alternative maritime fuels mandate. 💲 Decarbonisation and fiscal stability are not in competition: the government has an opportunity to address both decarbonisation and fiscal priorities by bringing international aviation and shipping into the emission trading scheme - and considering alternative routes to raise revenues from these sectors' emissions and bridge the cost gap between fossil fuels and green hydrogen solutions. The below video shows a snippet of our week in Liverpool - a huge thanks to Leona Kadijevic for capturing it in this brilliant video!
Why is it so crucial for the new government to help drive hydrogen-powered zero emission flights? 🤔 📺 Watch our video from The Labour Party conference, where we spoke to SASHA members Scott Pendry from Cranfield Aerospace Solutions and Dominic Weeks from ZeroAvia to find out what they think! 👇 #LabourConference2024 #LabourPartyConference #LabConference24 #GreenHydrogen #ZeroEmissionAviation #ZEF

Excellent explanation of how Multilink technology represents the future of our industry.
Adapting to technological advancements is essential to meet the increasing demands of air traffic," states Yann Cabaret, CEO of SITA for Aircraft, a leading global entity in air traffic communications. In a recent exclusive interview, Yann highlighted the necessity for the aviation industry to evolve as air traffic intensifies and new types of aircraft enter service. He emphasized the importance of implementing a multilink approach, which integrates satellite connectivity with terrestrial technologies. This strategy will enhance availability, performance, and reliability, significantly improving the overall efficiency of the air traffic network. "Multilink technology represents the future of our industry, paving the way for optimized flight trajectories and improved fuel efficiency," Yann added.

At the International Aerospace Innovation Forum in Montreal, panelists highlighted Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) as key to the aerospace industry's carbon neutrality goal by 2050. SAF fits existing infrastructure, unlike newer technologies like electric or hydrogen propulsion, which face adoption delays. Challenges such as regulatory requirements, funding limitations, and supply shortages need broader mandates for resolution. Innovations from companies like Honeywell are expanding SAF feedstock options to increase supply. Boeing's significant #SAF purchase underscores the industry's commitment to accelerating SAF usage as a practical solution for decarbonization. 📑 Read more: https://lnkd.in/dYdSXCvM

At Pi-Consultancy, our goal is to provide value to clients across the full breadth of the mobility sector. This week our team visited Farnborough International Airshow; the premier showcase for the Aerospace Industry. Our mission was simple: Explore the innovative technology that is being developed amongst Aerospace companies in what has often been seen as a quite a traditional industry. What we observed: 🛫 There is a strong drive to develop more efficient technologies to enable the Net Zero transition, we saw great examples across the entire aircraft 🚁 Core principles of research and engineering transfer very well between industries, especially as Aerospace aims for Net Zero 🛫 Companies who can efficiently navigate the development and entry into service of innovative technology whilst complying with complex regulations will do well 🚁 It was great to see so much government and regional support for companies, clearly Aerospace brings important benefits to these areas 🛫 Advanced Air Mobility (AAM/eVTOL) is a focus for value growth in the industry, attracting multiple automotive industry partnerships – but there’s still a way to go before it becomes a commercial reality At Pi Consultancy our first principles approach to problem solving and value creation is extremely well suited to industries in transition towards Net Zero…What are you waiting for? #FIA24 #Aerospace #Mobility #AAM #eVTOL
