Something often overlooked by sales managers. The quality of the data being provided to their salespeople. It's all too common for salespeople to spin their wheels on outdated account and contact data. This wastes hours per day. Because the service their subscribed to has inaccurate data. Sometimes "saving money" on a data provider, will cost you here instead. We constantly test services to seek the best solution for our clients, because everything starts with good data. No sense having your salespeople write the best personalized outreach when it's going to bounce. There's also another growing issue, deliverability. More to come.

Always stuns me when I see companies using sales tactics from the early 1980's; just cold calling through lists in total hope process - what is that analogy - even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile. Most sellers hate cold-prospecting - I know I did when I sold - and being told no even when I do get someone responding. Shifting to proper prospecting and account and contact prioritization just makes you efficient - which means more time selling to accounts where there is a MUCH higher chance of them being interested! Keep your sales team on the phone and enjoying it. Your SDRs are managing only 3-5 conversations with prospects each day. But they could be having 30-50. So, what's holding them back? It’s simple: you haven’t set clear targets for how many conversations they should have every single hour they’re prospecting. Instead, you’re tracking vanity metrics like the number of emails sent and dials made. You’re also dealing with an overstuffed tech stack filled with tools that your reps barely use—or don’t use at all. But this isn’t your fault. You’ve been misled. You’ve been told that outbound needs to be a complex operation in 2024, to cover all bases. That it requires a multitude of tools and processes that, in reality, do more to distract than enhance productivity. Don’t get me wrong—at ConnectAndSell, Inc, we use tools every day.
