😊We were delighted to host the kick of meeting of the 𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐕𝐄 Eurostars project at 𝐂𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐓𝐄𝐂 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 facilities. The project is coordinated by Gairesa with Innerspec Technologies, GAITEK INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION SOLUTIONS SL, ÉireComposites Teo and University College Dublin as partners and 𝐂𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐓𝐄𝐂 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 as subcontractor. ♻️The main objective of the project is to to develop debonding/rebonding on command adhesives, facilitating the disassembly of components for repairing after manufacturing or dismantling at life-end. The adhesive will be environmentally sustainable and recyclable. 👉𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐈𝐕𝐄 proposes four specific objectives: 1.- To develop a recyclable and debondable/rebondable on command adhesive based on epoxy resins. 2.- To design a new tool to apply heat which makes easy the debonding process (separation of the components). 3.- To develop a joining simulation to adjust the adhesive to the customized conditions of use and support the available design tools. 4.- To develop an equipment and methodology for NDT inspection of the adhesive. #CidetecSurfaceEngineering #SkinOfThings #CIDETEC #REVERSIVE #Eurostars

 📢In the #ACHIEF project, AIMEN Centro Tecnológico has successfully additive manufactured an industrial part using IN718 powder alloy using laser beam directed energy deposition. This part has been thermal treated and post-machined to be placed in a pre-heating furnace on the facilities of ArcelorMittal (Sestao). 🚀Our goal is to develop high entropy alloys (HEAs) materials and coatings that can withstand high-temperature conditions. In the near future, we will manufacture the same part using HEA. Metix offers improved stinger design Metix (part of SMS group), in partnership with Dango & Dienenthal South Africa (licensee to TMT), received an order to redesign a furnace stinger for a prominent metallurgical grade silicon producing client in Europe. The stinger, which is a submerged arc furnace taphole opening device, utilises a graphite electrode to generate a high current arc to burn the taphole open. All client requirements were considered during the design phase including a more simplified design for ease of operation and enhanced system functionality, improved operator safety, and increased robustness to avoid unnecessary downtime. This project is another example of how Metix, along with its SMS group partners, use in-house engineering capabilities to offer tailormade solutions for advanced furnace equipment that works.
