Today I don't want to write with artificial intelligence, today my text needs a beating heart.  I wanto to talk about singularities. A startup for the very niche classical music industry isn't just a curiosity, it's a business I'm proud to share with my co-founder Daniel Häggman. Our focus is to bring the classical music community closer to the digital working solutions that most other fields have already achieved in the XXI century. We were born out of the curve, and out of the curve we opperate. But we still do some orthodox things. The opportunity to pitch for a selected audience at the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management was the final event after 3 months of work. I was part of a programm from the Accelerator Frankfurt GmbH specially for Female Founders. The program was directed by the electrifying Maria Pennanen and supported by the Hessisches Ministerium für Wirtschaft, Energie, Verkehr und Wohnen, d-fine and HTGF | High-Tech Gründerfonds. The Female Founders programme was ideal for us, the mentors were great and very down-to-earth and we are very grateful for all the knowledge they have gathered over and shared so generously. It helped a lot with our strategy to attack our market. Thank you so much Anne Vallersnes, Johannes Dierkes, Dafna Gold Melchior, 🏄 Ram Shoham, Francesca “Cheska” Picache, Nadja Schuster. They also made us bold. The amazing group that shared this journey with me includes absolute brillant Anri Kivimäki, the inspiring rolemodel Kseniya Dockhorn, the force of nature Dipl.-Ing. Vitena Xhori, the kind and optimistic Hande Turan, the always reliable and insightful Sandra Janicijevic and Özge Cepheli. Given all the peculiarities of Piumosso, we have learnt in these 3 months that this is where our strength lies. No, I'm not a man (and I definitely don't want to learn how to become like one, as if that's the only way to succeed), no, I also don't have a huge market but I have a consistent and extremely passionate community. I believe in our success and I believe we are finding the tools to get there. Sometimes our paths are different than the other startups (who was at this pitch can confirm) but, on the singularity is where criativity, passion and humanity is. 🤝 Yesterday, Tayla and Varvara from the MotionLab.Berlin team attended a breakfast reception celebrating a new partnership between the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), German Accelerator, and London & Partners. 🏡 The reception was held at Fotografiska Berlin, a symbolic location, as noted by Miriam Ducke in her opening words. The building has experienced a significant revival after a period of uncertainty, symbolizing innovation and progress. 🌐 This sentiment mirrors the new era of German-British collaboration. Our team gained a glimpse at how this partnership will unfold, creating new opportunities for German businesses seeking to expand internationally, particularly to London, and growing the tech ecosystem on a global scale. 🔹 One key aspect of this expansion discussed was the importance of having strong partners who understand startups and scale-ups, are well-connected locally, and have an entrepreneurial spirit. 🔹 London, with its many corporates and capital, is Europe’s largest and most diverse ecosystem, offering invaluable support. After two days of talks and new ideas at the Reflect Festival, it's now time to reflect on the new information I've gathered. As a first-time attendee, I was super impressed by the hype of the event. Many participants were from Greece and Cyprus, with a handful from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Egypt, and a few from Hungary, Romania, the Nordics, and the Middle East. With approximately 8,000 attendees, you need to have your networking game on point. Here are a few insights I gathered from the meetings: - Panis Pieri (Tech Blogger): Cyprus is attracting new Big Tech companies by offering special tax deductions. The IT ecosystem is developing but needs more time and initiatives. The Startup Visa program was a good initiative, in theory, but it didn’t work out. - Hess Adnani: The island attracts foreigners, but also Cypriots are leaving. Most startup solutions are in fintech, SaaS, and gaming. - Vojta Diatka: Runs a CVC, investing only in early-stage biometrics startups. In such a niche sector, outreach is the number one scouting activity. - Yassaman Omidbakhsh: Failure in startups should be more accepted because it is a part of the game. - Martina Mandáková: The Slovak startup ecosystem is quite different from the Czech. There are not many umbrella associations for startups, but StartuPeak aims to become one. - Kristóf Székely: The fundraising climate is not the best for either VCs or startups. In Hungary, there is more VC money to invest than there are startups. - Jan Husták: In PR, many stakeholders need to be satisfied, so finding a middle-ground solution can be challenging. - Mergim Cahani: VCs should go back to being VCs. By definition, they should like risk and be more open to investing in outliers than in vetted companies. The platform cover 95 languages, has the capacity to detect various languages within the audio files, has an api that allows integration with clients solutions and also integrated and AI assistant. ➡FlairMakers, a startup Romanian founded in the UK; opened a 500k euro round to develop the team and the marketing activities related to the solution matching specialists with market needs in hospitality industry. 177.500 k are opened for subscription on Seedblink and additional 80k were raised from an individual investor. ➡@Sportin looks for new investments that can support their entrance on the US market. The startup is offering a unique point of contact for sports fans, from ticket acquisition to reservations classes or practice fields, helping with the digitalization of sports businesses during the process. The team also plans a development with a new product for practicing sports. The solution is MVP ready, has 4000 users and 100 fitness proffesionals enrolled, plans 12-15k euro recurrent monthly incomes until the end of the year and already attracted an investment of 200k that helped with developing the current status. 📢Ecosystem news ➡ The ROStartup Ecosystem was founded, rallying up the tech community and becoming the first entity to represent the Romanian tech ecosystem. It unites 15 key organizations, including investors ( #TechAngels as well), support groups, and accelerators. The goal is to improve strategic alignment, communication, and overall impact through collaboration. The association aims to make Romania a leading innovation hub in Europe.
