Parental involvement in a child's education is like the wind beneath their wings, propelling them to reach new heights. It's a well-established fact that when parents actively participate in their children's learning journey, the benefits are profound and far-reaching. In this blog, we'll explore the importance of parental involvement and the transformative impact it has on a child's educational experience. 1. Academic Success: Studies have consistently shown that students perform better academically when their parents are actively involved in their education. Regular communication with teachers, homework assistance, and guidance in setting educational goals all contribute to improved academic outcomes. 2. Boosted Self-Esteem: Parental involvement nurtures a child's self-esteem and confidence. Knowing that their parents are interested and engaged in their education provides a significant emotional boost. This positive self-perception can lead to increased motivation and a willingness to tackle challenges. 3. Stronger Work Ethic: Children learn by example, and when parents are actively involved, they demonstrate the value of hard work and commitment. This sets a powerful example for their children, instilling a strong work ethic and dedication to their studies. 4. Effective Communication: Parental involvement promotes effective communication. When parents engage with teachers and school staff, they create an open line of dialogue that allows for the timely resolution of concerns, challenges, and the celebration of successes. 5. Sense of Belonging: When parents participate in school activities, PTA meetings, and parent-teacher conferences, they contribute to a sense of community and belonging. Children feel supported not just by their families but by the school as a whole. 6. Improved Behavior: Parental involvement can have a positive impact on a child's behavior. Knowing that their parents are interested in their school life can motivate children to behave more responsibly and make better choices.

We believe strongly that SEL-related skills need to be part of the everyday classroom, not a program that happens separately from math and language arts. Professional learning for teachers, then, needs to support their mastery of strategies that facilitate content coverage and academic skill building while simultaneously increasing student engagement and nurturing their growth mindset and mental well-being. That's one of the important steps described in this K-12 Dive article.

Figuring things out with TalentServe Edition-33 The Power of Parental Involvement in Education Parental involvement in education is a cornerstone of student success. When parents engage in their children's learning—whether through helping with homework, attending school events, or communicating with teachers—they foster a supportive environment that encourages academic achievement and personal growth. Research shows that students with actively involved parents are more likely to excel academically, exhibit better behavior, and enjoy enhanced emotional well-being. This involvement bridges the gap between home and school, creating a cohesive support system. Parents don’t need to be education experts; their presence, encouragement, and interest can profoundly impact a child’s motivation and attitude towards learning. Simple actions, such as reading together or discussing the day’s school activities, can make a significant difference. By actively participating in their children’s education, parents not only contribute to their success but also strengthen the bond that underpins lifelong learning and development. #Education #ParentalInvolvement #StudentSuccess #FamilyEngagement

I tell parents I work with to back off on demanding straight A's and they look at me like I have two heads. Why would a parent lower their expectations for school? It's actually not about lowering expectations, but where you focus with your child on academics. You can have high standards without demanding all A's -- and your child will likely become a more productive, active student because of it! #parenting #academics #sciencebasedparenting #internalmotivation #autonomysupportiveparenting

Parental involvement in student education is crucial for academic success. When parents are engaged, students tend to earn higher grades, have better attendance, and develop a more positive attitude towards learning. Parental involvement also helps to build a stronger relationship between parents and teachers, leading to a more collaborative approach to education. Additionally, parents who are involved in their child's education are more likely to be aware of their strengths and weaknesses, allowing them to provide targeted support. Furthermore, parental involvement sets a good example for students, teaching them the importance of hard work and dedication. By being involved in their child's education, parents can help their child reach their full potential. #ParentalInvolvement #StudentSuccess #EducationMatters #AcademicAchievement #ParentTeacherPartnership #SupportingStudents #educassist

3wAs a former student and current teacher, I find Cain's views on introversion in education to resonate deeply with my experiences. We can better support all students by rethinking class participation and creating flexible spaces. Offering quiet time and alternatives to noisy recesses are simple accommodations that can make a significant difference. These adjustments highlight the importance of valuing introverts' strengths and creating a more inclusive educational system.
