I am so jealous of future esports organizations, broadcast providers and tournament operators. BACK IN MY DAY, if you wanted a highlight (IF THE GAME WAS EVEN STREAMED!), you had to hope that the observer caught the highlight, then clipped it in twitch, edited it down to size, and uploaded it. It was not the most fun experience, and from what I understand, it's only gotten worse over time (I am thankful not to run 24/7 coverage on esports twitter anymore!). But what we do at Allstar might change the game. This isn't our normal use case - we are generally making highlights for individual, everyday players - but I had to share this for my fellow esports social gang. In partnership with HLTV.org's Dust2.dk, we power highlights for every single one of their players, in every single match. Observer missed a play? No worries. Game wasn't streamed? Still get highlights. We use game data to recreate highlights in the cloud, and Dust2 uses them to power an incredible experience for their fans and players alike - the closest thing I've seen to "Sportscenter of Esports" yet, and believe me I know there's been a lot of them over the years. Couldn't launch this with a better group of guys - thanks Martin Rosenbæk Christen Sandersen! Exciting times - what's most exciting working at a growth stage startup is that what we do today, might change a little bit tomorrow and a lot the week after. If you have an idea as to how cloud generated video could work in your product, shoot me a DM... we like experimenting. #esports #gaming #counterstrike #cs #cs2 #socialmedia #highlights #allstar

PREPARING FOR THE 2025 ESPORTS YEAR As we approach 2025, it's essential to reflect, refocus, and position ourselves for growth and success in the ever-evolving esports industry. Here are seven key insights to help guide us into the new year with confidence and purpose: 1. Release the Pain and Baggage of 2024 2024 may have brought challenges, disappointments, and tough lessons. But remember, pain can be a powerful teacher—it shapes us, makes us more cautious, and prepares us for greater success. To fully embrace the opportunities of 2025, let go of any lingering negativity or regrets. Forgive yourself, forgive others, and enter the new year with a fresh mindset. A clear heart and mind will propel you forward. 2. Be Bold and Confident Confidence and boldness are your superpowers. With these, you’ve already won half the battle. Believe in your ability to overcome any obstacle and approach 2025 with courage. Your success in esports—and in life—will be fueled by this inner strength. May you find the peace and resolve to move forward boldly and achieve your goals. 3. Work Smarter, Not Just Harder In 2025, efficiency is key. Use tools, platforms, and strategies that streamline your processes and make your esports projects more effective. From ideation to execution, prioritize smart solutions that save time while maintaining quality. Remember, every action should enhance the community's experience and create meaningful value. 4. You Are Enough—Start Where You Are Understand that you have everything you need to succeed right now. Whether working alone or with others, your resources and abilities are enough to get started. Believe in yourself, stay consistent, and trust the process. Build with what you have, and you’ll be amazed at the progress you can make. 5. Seek Help—Learn to Ask Asking for help can be daunting, but it’s also essential. While you may hear “no” more often than “yes,” a single “yes” can change everything. Don’t be afraid to seek support—whether it’s advice, partnerships, or collaboration. Genuine and trustworthy requests often yield the solutions you need to move forward. 6. The Power of Collaboration Collaboration is a cornerstone of esports and gaming. Seek partners whose values and vision align with yours. Not every collaboration will work, but the right ones can lead to transformative outcomes. Pay attention to the spirit, mission, and goals of potential collaborators, and trust your instincts when deciding who to work with. 7. Ownership and Freedom In 2025, take full ownership of your ideas, projects, and intellectual property. Your events, concepts, and solutions are a reflection of your hard work and creativity—protect them. Ownership gives you the freedom to express yourself authentically and drive meaningful change. Let this be the year you shine unapologetically. Be bold, and confident to elevate your esports to the next level. See you at the top of 2025, full of joy and excitement! Kind regards, Kwesi Hayford
