You know that today’s lobby needs to be more than just a place to check-in. It’s a lounge, a social space, a co-working space, a place to unroll the welcome mat, and more! Of course, there is a limit to what you can do with one space…so what do you focus on? Here are my suggestions: 1.      Technology. Give your business travelers a place to charge their laptops and get to work! 2.      Comfortable seating. After a long day of traveling, there is nothing like sitting down on a cozy couch. 3.      Relaxing lighting. Your hotel’s first impression should be welcoming and warm. Over the past few years we’ve seen a significant increase in clients looking for flexibility in their hospitality spaces - why is this? ➡ Adaptability - Hospitality venues are much more multi-functional these days. Therefore they need to have flexible layouts that can accommodate events such as private parties, corporate gatherings, or regular dining services. Spaces need to be adaptable without undergoing any major reconfigurations. ➡ Maximised Usage - A flexible space can be used optimally throughout the day. For instance, a restaurant might serve as a cosy coffee spot in the morning, a lively lunch venue, and a more formal dinner setting, all within a single day.  ➡ Efficiency - Adaptable spaces can help improve operational efficiency allowing for better use of resources and staff, minimising downtime between services or events. We work closely with our client's teams to fully understand how they want their space to optimally function and always incorporate this into our design process from the outset. Recently we designed award-winning The Libertine (see below image) for Incipio Group, where we worked closely with the ops team to design flexible spaces that could accommodate large group reservations while not compromising the premium feel of the bar area. Our solution involved the strategic placement of poseur tables opposite the main feature bar. These tables, although seemingly fixed, were designed to be movable. This allows the ops team to effortlessly expand or condense the space as needed, creating distinct areas for reservations. It's often the simplest solutions that deliver the most impact! Achieving this delicate balance without compromising the design's overall integrity requires experience and expertise - something which our team delivers on all our projects. When this collection of hotels was launched, it represented an innovation in the industry, especially with its marvelous color palette. The Warren Street Hotel, the newest addition to the Firmdale family, located in the vibrant and creative neighborhood of Tribeca, embodies contemporary art and design, with every inch joyfully infused with Kit Kemp's sense of fun and love of storytelling.
