Networking as a student is so out of my comfort zone.
Going and striking a conversation with random people in various industries is something I find both difficult and enjoyable at the same time.
One thing which these events really help in is to build the skill of active listening.
When I first started attending networking events, I felt overwhelmed by the prospect of approaching professionals and engaging in meaningful conversations. The fear of saying the wrong thing or not being able to keep up with the discussion often held me back. However, as I attended more events and forced myself out of my comfort zone, I began to realize the value of active listening.
Active listening isn't just about hearing what someone says; it's about fully understanding their perspective, thoughts, and emotions. In a networking setting, it's crucial for building rapport, establishing connections, and learning from others' experiences.
I'm excited to continue honing my active listening skills and building meaningful connections in the vibrant community of professionals on LinkedIn and beyond! Let's connect and learn from each other!
