Last week, the Tenstreet team had the honor of wrapping up the Veteran Ready Summit by participating in Wreaths Across America Day at the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to pay tribute to our heroes and appreciate the trucking industry's continued contributions to this event. We would also like to extend a special shoutout to two of our clients, Brown Dog Carriers & Logistics and Cargo Transporter LTD for their generous donation of time and resources to ensure the delivery of wreaths to Arlington. We were thrilled to see your dedication and support play a crucial role in honoring our veterans! #RememberHonorTeach Bryon Wiebold Thomas Resz Teresa Krimbill

#MilitaryAppreciation is more than saying "thank you for your service" on Veterans Day. There are brands that do more. One such brand jumped into the Military Appreciation space almost by accident. It all began when someone at Michigan Screen & Window Repair accidentally said "widows" instead of "windows." And just like that, Windows for Widows was born. Michigan Screen and Window Repair, in partnership with Hero's Corner, allow the local community to nominate gold star military spouses to receive window replacements in their home. This initiative is a beautiful reminder of the power of community and the impact brands can make. And it's not just windows. The Owens Corning Roof Deployment Project is responsible for gifting Navy veteran David Wujcik a brand-new roof. Through the program, Owens Corning provides the materials and a local roofer provides the labor. These programs are great for the veterans they benefit as well as the local community. You know who else these programs are good for? The brands. The part that gets lost here is, within all of the goodwill brands are enabling through charitable programs, there is also a marketing angle to consider. I mean, if you're in the market for windows or a new roof, which organization would you consider? A brand that supports the military community? Or one that doesn't? #Military #MilitaryAppreciation

Differentiation is key in marketing. Doing more than your competitor to attract the attention of a particular segment is a sound strategy.

FIVE WAYS TO COMMEMORATE MEMORIAL DAY Memorial Day is viewed as the official beginning of summer, marked by picnics and BBQs with friends and family. But this holiday was established to set aside time to honor and remember those who died while serving in the U.S. military. In addition to picnics and BBQs, here are five great ways to commemorate Memorial Day this weekend. 1. Attend A Ceremony. Many towns have parades and ceremonies on Memorial Day. Some even conclude with a memorial service. Make time to take advantage of what your town offers. 2. Decorate with Flags. For many years, it has been a tradition to decorate the graves of fallen soldiers with flags on Memorial Day or fly our flag at half-staff from dawn until noon local time. If you have a flag pole, consider joining the tradition this year. 3. Thank A Veteran. While Memorial Day is a time for remembering and honoring our fallen soldiers, it’s also a wonderful time to thank soldiers past and present who are in our midst today. Thank them for their service. If you do not know a veteran or want to do more, write a letter to a veteran or soldier! Check out https://buff.ly/2DhxLZD for more information about writing letters or sending care packages to soldiers currently deployed. 4. Participate in our National Moment of Remembrance. To ensure Memorial Day is the sacred and noble holiday it is intended to be, the National Moment of Remembrance asks us to pause for 1 minute in national unity wherever we are at 3 PM local time on Memorial Day. 5. Buy A Poppy. During the days leading up to Memorial Day, members of the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) accept donations for poppies. The poppy’s significance to Memorial Day derives from John McCrae’s poem, “In Flanders Fields.” Disabled and needy veterans in VA hospitals have been assembling Buddy Poppies since 1924. When you purchase a poppy, your donation assists in maintaining state and national rehabilitation and service programs for veterans. #EllenMorano #MemorialDay2024 #Honor #Remembrance #Veterans #FallenSoldiers #ThankYou

Today, several Triangle Veterans had the honor of meeting with the team at Charlie Mike, a local non-profit organization dedicated to saving the lives of veterans grappling with unseen wounds of combat, one veteran at a time. Charlie Mike's mission resonates with the belief that standing together at home, just as they did during wartime, can facilitate each other's journey back to a fulfilling life. During our visit, we delved into one of Charlie Mike's cornerstone programs: the Canine Battle Buddy Training Program. Dogs have proven to be invaluable companions in addressing emotional needs, with documented outcomes showing that emotional support and therapy animals significantly contribute to emotional healing and stability. These benefits are directly linked to reduced suicide rates and the cultivation of a renewed sense of purpose in veterans' lives. The team at Charlie Mike identifies and rescues dogs from animal shelters, transforming them into "battle buddies" trained to support veterans. In this process, they are not only saving the lives of these animals but also offering vital support to veterans in need. This initiative is just one of the three pillars of support that Charlie Mike offers to veterans. At Triangle, we take pride in our partnership with Charlie Mike and remain steadfast in our commitment to supporting their noble cause. If you know a veteran who could benefit from their services, please share the link with them. The battle against unseen wounds is often silent and unnoticed, but together, we can help Charlie Mike in their mission to save veterans' lives, one at a time. https://loom.ly/deOq13g
