Innovators and founders building solutions to combat climate change have a special place and l'm grateful everyday with the dream team at Arimma, the intersection of sustainability, banking and technology. Vulnerable populations, including low-income communities, marginalized groups, and developing countries, are disproportionately affected by the impacts of climate change. Addressing climate change is essential for promoting social justice and ensuring that the benefits and burdens of climate action are equitably distributed. Climate change can exacerbate existing social, political, and economic tensions, leading to conflicts over resources, displacement of populations, and geopolitical instability. Addressing climate change is essential for promoting global stability and cooperation. Here is a list of investors for those that are building solutions in the climate space : https://lnkd.in/dGcVuHRR

Concerned about climate change? A recent study revealed that a whopping 69% of people surveyed across 125 countries are willing to give away 1% of their household income monthly to combat global warming. Surprisingly, most folks underestimate this figure, assuming it's around 43%. 🤔 This perception gap matters, impacting collective action. As co-author Teodora Boneva points out, feeling like the lone contributor may hinder individual efforts. So, here's the big question: How can we amplify this "lonely majority" and mobilize more effectively for climate action? Let's discuss! #ClimateChange #CollectiveAction #GlobalWarmingAwareness #ESGCommunications Commentary: How to do climate policy in the age of green backlash - CNA (channelnewsasia.com)

🔬The Science of CO2 influence on Climate Climate contrarians often claim that adding more CO2 to our atmosphere won't cause further warming because it's already "saturated". This claim is false. Read the full article : https://lnkd.in/gYHGRqH7 🔬 What Science Says: 𝐑𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠: CO2 absorbs and re-emits infrared radiation, trapping heat and contributing to global warming. More CO2 will continue to cause warming, although the warming effect is logarithmic. This means that while adding 100 ppm in the future won’t cause as much warming as the 100 ppm added over the past 60 years (between 1964 and 2024), it will still lead to significant warming. 𝐍𝐨 𝐒𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭: As CO2 levels rise, it continues to trap more heat - there's no "saturation point". While the center of CO2's absorption band may saturate, the edges still trap heat effectively. 𝐇𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐄𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞: Our understanding of CO2’s effects as a greenhouse gas dates back to 1856 and has been consistently supported by scientific research for over a century. Recent satellite data confirms CO2 is still increasing Earth's temperature. 👏 Grateful for the invaluable contributions from Paulo Ceppi, Ralph Keeling, Raymond Pierrehumbert, Joanna Haigh, and Dr Ella Gilbert.

Thanks to LAist for the feature on Dashboard.Earth's recent product launches! https://lnkd.in/gD-G4BEk "Want to take Climate Action in LA? There's an App For That." "Of course a single app won't save the world-- but for the smartphone-centric society we now live in, apps can be an effective tool to help people engage with meaningful climate action at an individual level. It can even be something of a gateway to starting to participate in broader, more systemic action."
