I have been on the receiving end of sales pitches in the past that have left me disengaged as a buyer based on the clear lack of knowledge from its presenter(s). Their inability to answer questions throughout the presentation left their audience wanting, and rhetoric can only take you so far. Mastering your product isn't just nice-to-have—it's essential for creating sustainable and repeatable business success. #ProductKnowledge #ClientRelationships #SalesSuccess #BusinessGrowth Corvus Strategic Advisors

I help sales and marketing leaders deliver on-brand, consistent proposals at scale while unlocking game-changing visibility and close 2x their industry average.
Do you embed videos in your proposals? We found only 22% of companies do, but featuring videos can increase closing rates by 41% and will close 26% faster than proposals without videos. What kind of videos? It could be a customer testimonials, a demo reel, or — what we find works the best — a personalized introduction to stakeholders, in particular, ones who haven't been involved earlier in the sales cycle. This is a golden opportunity to get 'in the room' with decision makers you haven't been able to meet with during the sales cycle. They get to see and hear you speak as a real person, not just some document their colleague forwarded. Use this opportunity to demonstrate your understanding of their business objective, their pain points, and that your solution will deliver results. This couldn't be done in the era before digital proposals. Think you might give this a try on your next proposal? PS: For more proposal insights like this be sure to check out our State of Proposals 2024 which just launched. https://hubs.ly/Q02GVMWs0

𝗦𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝘃𝘀. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀? If you focus more on making 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 than on 𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴, you might build a strong relationship between the 𝘀𝗮𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺 and the customer, but not between the 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁 and the customer. The sales team often works closely with the customer's team, creating strong bonds between them. As a business owner, it's important to establish a connection between the product and the customer. In the long run, this approach tends to be more advantageous.

Customer value has never been more important to success. It’s not just another ‘trend’, or something to nod to within a marketing strategy. It should be a key driver of it. Understanding what customers value, (which is constantly changing), offering them value, being a value to them throughout the relationship is key for success. Get this right and the ultimate goal of £ will come - but so will higher retention rates, renewals, better (deeper) customer relationships, the size of the revenue, the potential for more advocacy…higher profits, faster innovation - and much more potential for success in the long term. How you measure it also requires new thinking.
