Detail : Battery Smart, a battery-swapping service provider for electric two and three wheelers, has completed 50 million battery swaps and become the first company in India to reach this milestone. Battery was launched in India 5 years ago, since then it has established more than 1,400 battery-swapping stations across 35+ cities, serving over 60,000 drivers. By partnering with existing businesses, the company has been able to set up stations quickly, especially in areas where charging infrastructure is still lacking, such as smaller cities and rural regions. Battery Smart’s business model introduce the battery-as-a-service eliminates the need for EV users to own batteries and lowers the upfront cost of electric vehicles by up to 40% making EV ownership more affordable. Drivers using the service can swap their drained batteries for fully charged ones within two minutes. The company is also providing opportunities for female drivers, with participation rates 3-4 times higher than the industry average, helping them gain financial independence. ElectroRide, a multi-brand electric vehicles retail chain, has partnered with Battery Smart to establish 2,500 battery swapping stations across India within the next five years. The first phase of this collaboration involves Battery Smart setting up 50 swap stations at #ElectroRide locations in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. The partnership aims to make electric mobility adoption simple, economical, and efficient by creating more EV swapping infrastructure. Battery Smart's goal is to give EV users access to swap stations within a 1 km radius with zero waiting time. Battery Smart, operational since June 2020, has scaled to 1000 stations across 30 cities, completing over 35 million swaps. Through Battery Smart's Battery-as-a-service (BaaS) model, EV users can replace depleted EV batteries with fully charged ones within 2 minutes.
