TerraCycle’s mission is Eliminating the Idea of Waste®; that’s why we proudly support a reduction in the production of virgin or new plastics. Our global reuse platform, Loop, has been helping brands and retailers reduce their dependence on plastics by creating reusable versions of their products’ packaging since its founding in 2019. TerraCycle and Loop will keep working with world leaders in sustainability, like the World Economic Forum and the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, to share our expertise on reuse and recycling. And, while we continue to expand with key partners like Monoprix and Carrefour in France and Aeon in Japan, you can also find us advocating for reuse at events like PAC Global and INC-4, both held in Canada this year. 🌿 Embracing Sustainable Innovation: Spotlight on Notpla 🌍 I had the pleasure of exploring Notpla's revolutionary journey towards sustainable packaging solutions with Hoa Doan and Pierre-Yves Paslier. Their commitment to combatting plastic waste through seaweed-based packaging is not just innovative—it's transformative. Notpla's approach, from edible water sachets to biodegradable takeaway boxes, is reshaping the industry's landscape. By harnessing the power of natural materials, they are not only reducing environmental impact but also setting new standards in sustainability. Their recent recognition by the Dutch government as truly plastic-free marks a significant milestone, opening doors for wider adoption across Europe and beyond. Join me in applauding Notpla's dedication to building a waste-free world. Let's continue championing such initiatives that pave the way for a greener future. Europe’s advancements in sustainable materials are commendable, but to truly engineer change, we must scale our solutions to where they’ll have the maximum impact. This map underscores a stark reality: the bulk of the world’s urban population lives outside our borders, in regions like China and India, where waste management infrastructure is lacking. Our quest for reusable glass milk bottles in Paris, while admirable, won’t shift the needle on the global stage. With less than 10% of plastic recycled in Europe, we’re barely scratching the surface. To make a real dent, our packaging innovations must be both: 1) recyclable 2) truly biodegradable 3) cost-effectivea and designed for easy adoption by the most populous cities that need them most. Let’s channel our efforts to transform not just local, but global sustainability as we do at Papkot™

🚀 I recently launched Looply. We turn single-use plastics into reusable products. ♻️ We collect single-use plastics from businesses and individuals that would otherwise end up in landfills, incinerators, or the environment, and turn them into versatile reusable sheets. These sheets are durable, funky, and a blank canvas for endless amounts of products. Our mission is to make sustainable practices tangible and accessible. We engage communities directly in redefining waste as a resource with hands-on workshops and local initiatives across London, encouraging interaction with materials to better understand their value. 🛠️ By finding engaging ways to practice sustainability, we help shift behaviors towards more environmentally conscious actions. IG: @looplyuk looplyuk.com Shoutout to Nat Hunter who was a great mentor in shaping my knowledge on implementing circular systems around products and Stephanie McLaren-Neckles who runs the business incubator BAMBUU at the University of the Arts London where Looply was born. #CircularEconomy #Sustainability #Upcycling #CommunityInitiatives #EcoFriendly #PlasticRecycling #HandsOnSustainability

Celebrating World Environment Day with Sustainable Personal Care Choices 🌿🌍 Let’s appreciate our beautiful planet and commit to actions that can make a positive impact. One of the often-overlooked areas where we can contribute is through our personal care products. Here's how our everyday choices can help protect the environment: 🌱 Choose Eco-Friendly Brands: Many personal care brands now offer products with sustainable sourcing, biodegradable ingredients, and eco-friendly packaging. 🚮 Reduce Plastic Waste: Opt for products with minimal or no plastic packaging. Refillable containers, solid bars of shampoo and soap, and glass packaging are excellent alternatives that reduce plastic waste. 💧 Conserve Water: Our personal care routines can consume a significant amount of water. Simple changes like turning off the tap while brushing your teeth or taking shorter showers can make a big difference. ♻ Support Recycling Initiatives: Many companies now offer recycling programs for their products. Participate in these initiatives to ensure that packaging and containers are properly recycled. At #LANXESS, we see sustainability from different angles. From biodegradable products that are either made from natural raw materials or products that enable manufacturers to reduce their carbon footprint along the entire value chain - LANXESS offers more sustainable alternatives for most of its preservatives, fragrances, and flavors. [#HappyEarthDay 🌍] This year’s Planet vs Plastics theme serves as an important reminder of the steps we must all take to support the transition towards a circular economy. Using recycled, bio-based and responsibly sourced raw materials is a critical part of our circularity strategy, and through our group-wide Planet Passionate sustainability programme we’re working to increase the use of recycled PET as a raw material. In fact, we have recycled more than 3 billion PET plastic bottles* into our manufacturing processes since 2020*. To find out more about our circularity targets, visit the circularity section of our 2023 sustainability report here ⬇️See link in the comments below⬇️ #Kingspan #PlanetPassionate #EarthDay #PlanetVsPlastics *equivalent number of PET bottles by weight Kingspan Group Isocab By Kingspan

April 22nd is Earth Day and this year's theme is plastics - with a demand for a 60% reduction in plastic use by 2040. But why do we use so much plastic in the first place, and should we look for sustainable alternatives or is a change in lifestyles the real answer? Join Josh Jacobs, Director of Sustainability at WAP Sustainability, for this far-ranging discussion about plastic alternatives, why different isn't always better and the role of the consumer in demanding change. 💚 At Storopack, there are 3 pillars for more sustainability 💚 Sustainability has many facets. Whether ecological, economic or social, the basic idea is the same - to live in such a way that future generations have it as good or better than we do. As a family-run company, these principles are particularly close to Storopack's heart. That is why Storopack has three pillars that all revolve around sustainability: 1️⃣ Sustainable and resource-saving products Our mission “Perfect Protective Packaging” is also our top priority when it comes to sustainability. Product development is clearly focused on design, recycling and sustainability. Our product portfolio already includes a large number of products made from recycled and renewable resources. 2️⃣ Internal initiatives The path to sustainable action begins with our raw materials even before product development. The equipment at our sites also plays an immense role in terms of resource conservation. We therefore rely on various internal measures to improve our environmental footprint and for efficient energy management. 3️⃣ Collaborative initiatives For more sustainability in the use of plastics, we participate in initiatives that combat plastic waste, such as the Alliance to End Plastic Waste and Operation Clean Sweep. Let's talk about how I can help you minimize your environmental footprint with the right protective packaging. 🗣️✍️
