📣 Up to 40% of women experience pelvic floor problems that negatively affect their health and psyche. NTC researchers at the University of West Bohemia, Pilsen, the Faculty of Medicine in Pilsen at Charles University, and the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule Regensburg have therefore joined forces to develop a system for preventing pelvic floor disorders. 👉 The collaboration aims to create a modular non-invasive system for exercising pelvic muscles. The resulting functional prototype will help improve the quality of life for women aged 18 to 45 and simultaneously reduce the burden on the healthcare system. The European Union project is supported by the Ministerstvo pro místní rozvoj from European funds within the Interreg Bavaria-Czech Republic 2021-2027 program.

Non-invasive brain stimulation methods (NIBS) are an increasingly important approach to expanding effective treatment options for neurodegenerative and neurophysiological diseases. Intensive research is being carried out worldwide and methods such as Transcranial Pulse Stimulation (TPS) are being used successfully in practice. This add-on therapy, which is also characterized by its good tolerability and safety for patients, is being further investigated in numerous studies. Renowned scientists such as Prof. Dr. med. Lars Wojtecki, Chief Physician of the Clinic for Neurology and Neurorehabilitation and Medical Director at the Hospital zum Heiligen Geist Kempen, academic teaching hospital of Heinrich Heine University Dusseldorf (HHU), Professor of Neurology there and Fellow of the European Academy of Neurology (FEAN), among others, are intensively involved in paving the way for TPS on its path to evidence. This also includes exchanging ideas with colleagues who are committed to the promising era of NIBS in medicine. Previously published studies and literature on Transcranial Pulse Stimulation (TPS) can be viewed on "Alzheimer Science", among others: https://lnkd.in/dkgbYHfg #alzheimerscience #transcranialpulsestimulation #tps #tpsstudies #brainstimulation #noninvasivebrainstimulation #nibs #proflarswojtecki #larswojtecki #heinrichheineuniversity #hhu #fean

Hi everyone! 😊 I'm excited to present my poster, “𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐠-𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐢𝐧 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬”, or simply, “𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐃𝐨 𝐖𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐈𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐭𝐨 𝐊𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐎𝐮𝐫 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠?” tomorrow at the 𝟐𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐙𝐆 𝐦𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠! I work with regulatory T cells, or Tregs, specialized immune cells known for balancing the immune system and preventing excessive responses. But did you know Tregs do more? They also help maintain homeostasis and function in metabolic tissues like muscles. 🏋️♂️ Exercise is great, right? But how does it affect immune cells in your muscles? This question has been a mystery—until now. We explored: 1. 🏃♀️ How does physical activity affect muscle Tregs? 2. 🔬 What molecular mechanisms are involved? 3. 🛠️ Can tweaking Tregs improve muscle regeneration after injury? 4. 🏥 What’s the clinical relevance? Join me at 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 #𝟏𝟔 to uncover the fascinating crosstalk between muscles and Tregs. Let's dive deep into these groundbreaking insights together! See you there! 🤓 For more details, visit https://lnkd.in/dCPDNCW5
