I just watched the video highlights from the 65th WIPO Assemblies, and it was amazing to see the sheer effort put into bringing together such a diverse group of people from all around the world. The event was a great mix of cultures and ideas, showing how important it is for everyone to work together. Kudos to World Intellectual Property Organization – WIPO for making this happen. The Director General, Daren Tang, said it was the biggest gathering of ministers they've ever had, which shows how important these talks are. One of the most exciting prospects from this Assembly, in my opinion, is the potential for more collaboration among IP leaders globally. With so many representatives from different regions, there's a real chance to make progress on important treaties, especially those related to new technologies. These discussions are crucial for ensuring that IP offices worldwide can use new technologies to drive innovation and creativity. I've been waiting for a treaty in this area, and I truly hope this gathering marks the beginning of real advancements. Congratulations to Director General Daren Tang, the WIPO staff, and all the attendees for their hard work and dedication. All-time highs in a boring japanese company that we have held in our portfolio (#JapanDeepValueFund) since 2016. Nichireki (5011; asphalt & other road paving materials for infrastructures). Key insights from the chart: 1) As we always emphasize, 2012 marked a pivotal shift in the stock market cycle in Japan. 2) The importance of patience in investing. From 2018 to 2022, it barely rose. 3) Despite breaking historical highs, it trades at just 1 times its book value. 4) In 10 years, it has generated surplus cash, after worning capital, capex & dividends, of 18 billion JPY and maintains 27 billion JPY in cash along with more than 7 billion JPY in financial investments. It has a market capitalization of 77 billion JPY and generates around 6 billion JPY annually, with a growing trend $5011 #Nichireki
