🔥Columbus, Ohio for golf?🔥
Columbus, Ohio, often celebrated for its strategic business location and vibrant lifestyle, is also swinging its way to becoming a premier golf haven. With a twist of character and a dash of statistics, let’s tee off into what makes Columbus a standout city.
At the heart of it all, Columbus is about progression— and nowhere is this more evident than in its embrace of golf. With over 70 meticulously designed golf courses dotted throughout its metro area—home to a bustling population projected to grow by 5% over the next decade—Columbus offers lush greens for every golfer from novice to pro.
The city's love affair with golf doesn't end on the fairway. Annually, the Greater Columbus Convention Center, sprawling over 1.8 million square feet of prime downtown real estate, transforms into a golfer’s paradise. It hosts multiple high-profile golf expos and tournaments that attract thousands, showcasing the latest in sports technology and gear. This venue isn't just large; it's one of the most actively booked centers in the nation, with over 350 events a year, including a growing roster of major golfing events.
Imagine this: You land in Columbus for a conference. You’re a mere 20-minute drive from joining a local golf tournament or enjoying a leisurely round with potential clients and business partners. Here, business and pleasure not only meet—they converge on the green.
After the 18th hole, the city’s safe, pedestrian-friendly streets invite you to explore. Whether it’s dining at a chef-owned restaurant or catching a live show downtown, there’s plenty to do just a short walk from the convention center.
And let’s talk about the local vibe—Columbus’s golf scene is teeming with character. From historic public courses that tell tales of past legends to private clubs that offer the luxe exclusivity of modern golfing, every corner of this city speaks to a rich, vibrant culture that's as diverse as its landscape.
With Columbus set to expand its convention center to accommodate more sporting events, the future looks bright. The city is positioning itself not just as a hub for business but as a cornerstone for golf tourism and events, promising even more reasons to visit, stay, and play.
So, whether you’re eyeing a permanent spot in our community or just swinging by, Columbus’s doors—and greens—are wide open. Come for the golf, stay for the spirit, and let Columbus be your home course away from home!
P.s. I am not affiliated with the convention center. I just genuinely wish more golf business and events were here.

As the Sales Director for the Greater Columbus Convention Center/ASM Global, I often hear how surprised people are once they visit Columbus and discover our amazing city.
One weekend here introduces you to our food scene, including craft breweries, distilleries, and food trucks. We have a rich collection of museums and are home to the Museum of Art, Center for Science and Industry, and the highly regarded Scioto Mile, a collection of trails and parks along the Scioto River. Other gems include North Market, Short North, and German Village which are all walkable from the Convention Center.
On top of that Columbus is also the fastest-growing city in the US.
I'm not the only one who loves this city.
Forbes featured Columbus, yet again!

Permiso Security | Identity Risk Visibility and Threat Detection For ALL Identities in ALL Environments | Helping Security & IT Unite to Secure ALL Identities
Who's going to Identiverse next week in Las Vegas? I'll be at booth 2325, come say hi! I'll be in Vegas all week, DM me if you're attending Identiverse or live in the area, and let's meet up!
I started my cyber journey in identity and access management, focusing on centralizing and managing identities and access. Today, while IdPs have successfully centralized IAM infrastructure management, they've also created a centralized attack surface. With rising identity-based attacks, the focus has shifted to identity as infrastructure security in cloud and hybrid environments. Ensuring legitimate identities and normal activities requires stitching together your IdP with all your cloud environments. IdPs alone aren't enough—Okta's CEO admitted to breaches, stating, “We’re not perfect by any means.” I look forward to discussing this shift and Permiso's approach to addressing the challenges of detecting and responding to identity-based attacks at our booth or wherever you want to meet in Vegas!
The next few weeks will be busy ones as we hit the road to attend some great conferences
5/21-5/23: #HISAC in Orlando, Florida. Visit Danielle M. Gagnon and Andrew Kraut at booth 35
5/28-5/30: Identiverse in Las Vegas, Nevada. Paul Nguyen, Tobin Sears, Silvio P., Michael Ferrari and Randall Hettinger will be at booth 2325, so stop by.
6/17-6/18: fwd:cloudsec in Arlington, Virginia. Several team members will be at this event and we'll be at booth/table 16.
If you are attending any of these events, be sure to stop by and say hello!
Today, I had the privilege of attending KML's Top 30 Under 30 Summit. Thank you The Westin Harbour Castle, Toronto and Sam for giving me and my colleagues this opportunity. And congratulations to Aaron for the well-deserved award! We're so proud of you! 🎉
I arrived already expecting to learn, but the panel sessions far exceeded my expectations. I'm excited to share my key takeaways:
📝"Diversity" extends beyond race, age, and gender orientation to include learning abilities. Most people who work in FOH are experiential learners, retaining information better through hands-on experience. Training should be tailored accordingly, rather than relying solely on PowerPoint slides or written materials.
📝Encourage every associate to collaborate and contribute to changes; give them a sense of purpose.
📝When hiring, shift the focus from "Will they stay?" to "How do we retain them?"; what we should be looking for, especially in the service industry, is Authenticity.
📝Going Green— This shouldn't mean taking away amenities or putting the burden on the guests in any way, it means offering an alternative.
📝Pre-Shifts— the hallmark of service excellence; setting the mood for associates and keeping them informed impacts guest's experiences more than you think.

Sunday morning in St. Louis just got a whole lot better! 🍳
I2SL: International Institute for Sustainable Laboratories conference is serving up more than just great ideas.
Highlight? Tom Smith for his brilliant presentation on "Safe and Energy-Efficient Lab Ventilation Systems."
Tom's gift? Making complex topics digestible.
He helped us understand Labs2Zero measures are not just theory, and He left us all eager to implement Labs2Zero measures.
Here's why I'm fired up:
Labs2Zero approach resonates with our TEKON-Technical Consultants, Inc. philosophy:
- Rigorous testing
- Unwavering standards
Result? Labs that are:
- Safe
- Efficient
- Sustainable
Tom's presentation reminded me why I love this field.
We're not just tweaking HVAC systems.
We're creating environments where breakthroughs happen.
How are you applying Labs2Zero strategies in your #labs?
