You have minor children in the home, but custody and visitation have been worked out. Then, as frequently happens in the armed forces, your ex receives notice of a transfer of duty station, perhaps on the other side of the country or the other side of the world. How does that affect custody and visitation? What can be done to ensure that the children have meaningful access to and time with each parent? Understanding the need for good order and discipline within the military, the military can combat suicide by shifting the focus from the desire to always take adverse administrative action or disciplinary action against those service members who commit misconduct as a result of their psychological injuries. While this approach may not be the sole solution in a case involving serious misconduct, by emphasizing treatment for psychological injuries, the command reduces the risk of re-offending and promotes good order and discipline by showing other service members within the command that there is no negative stigma to seeking treatment for psychological injuries. By putting emphasis on treatment, the military can effectively return service members back to society as healthy and productive citizens. The UN HRMMU monthly Protection of Civilians update is now out: https://lnkd.in/dj7htmgH Key take-aways: - HRMMU verified that at least 641 civilians were killed or injured in Ukraine in January 2024, continuing a trend from December 2023 of increasing civilian casualties. Verified civilian casualties in January were 37 per cent higher than in November 2023. - The January increase in civilian casualties was mainly due to intensified attacks by Russian armed forces across the country with missile and loitering munitions. These attacks affecting areas far from the frontline also resulted in an increase in the number of children killed and injured. Families constitute a larger proportion of casualties far from the frontlines because many families with their children have evacuated frontline communities. OHCHR verified that 40 children were killed or injured in January, up from 18 in November. - The number of civilian casualties also rose in Russian-occupied territory, in large part due to an attack in the occupied city of Donetsk on 21 January. - Most civilian casualties (71 per cent) and damage to educational and health facilities (76 per cent) continued to occur in Government-controlled territory.

Good points are made here:
According to Haaretz the attack on the convoy of WCK was deliberate because they believed there was an armed Hamas member in the car. If true it reveals how the IDF treats proportionality: you can kill a group of aid workers to justify killing one Hamas even when you fail. That happens in a war says PM. This is what the IDF does every day to Palestinians. But then without the outcy from the world leaders. They are only angry when the victims are from our countries. Shame.
IDF bombed WCK aid convoy 3 times, targeting armed Hamas member who wasn't there

Insurgency is a law and order, and not a military problem. Anti-insurgency operations should be handled by a strong police force and not just relegated to the military. The police has to take charge of internal security affairs while the military the external ones. Both armed organizations become weaker if one does the job of another. Ultimately both will fail to do its own mission. The armed forces should stop doing the job of the police. The latter should be properly strengthened and made fully-capable of performing its internal security mission. The presence of policemen all over the country make them more knowledgeable in their respective areas. They are also the closest and the quickest ones who can respond. Military units do not have enough personnel to cover all municipalities and they would diverted from their primary mission. Their use at times is an overkill and anxiety-causing. The police can be proactive and be always a step ahead of the insurgents. It should be empowered instead of being relieved of a primary responsibility. The military could concentrate on its own adequacy in providing external defense. A country needs to have armed services that are fully capable of doing their designated missions.

OSCE is spreading lies! AZOV guys are nice and civil! Boris says so! 💩 Slava Ukraini! "In some cases prisoners, for the purposes of intimidation, were sent to minefields and run over with military vehicles, which led to their death. Other torture methods used by the Ukrainian armed forces and security forces include bone-crashing, stabbing and cutting with a knife, branding with red-hot objects, shooting different body parts with small arms. The prisoners taken captive by the Ukrainian armed forces and security forces are kept for days at freezing temperatures, with no access to food or medical assistance, and are often forced to take psychotropic substances that cause agony. An absolute majority of prisoners are put through mock firing squads and suffer death and rape threats to their families. " From OSCE report, 2016: https://lnkd.in/ebtTye77

My Dear friends, I hope I'm not overwhelming you with various topics and ideas, but I believe it's important to understand the severity of the war we are fighting against a terrorist organization that has taken control of the state of Lebanon and has been operating violently against us from its territory. Hezbollah's Use of Human Shields Hezbollah militants and arms are systematically embedded in civilian areas and urban population centers. In Southern Lebanon alone, an area characterized by its dense Shiite population, there are hundreds of arms depots, thousands of militants, and tens of thousands of rockets. As part of Hezbollah's military doctrine, Shiite villages are designed to serve as battlefields. Command and control posts are located in well-protected civilian centers, often near vital or sensitive public facilities such as schools, hospitals, and mosques. Lookout points, weapons depots, snipers, and ground forces are spread along the main roads of each village, ready to react to any attempted infiltrations. During the Iron Swords War, several fighting complexes were uncovered in Lebanese villages, containing arms warehouses, firing posts, rocket launching sites, and combatant gathering points intentionally situated amid populated areas. Hezbollah has also constructed a network of underground tunnels beneath civilian homes and structures to allow its fighters to move freely between posts. Therefore, Hezbollah has turned its integration within the population into a strategic advantage in a manner that is illegal, immoral, and knowingly leads to the death of innocent civilians. The embedding of militants and weapons into their populated surroundings and the intentional use of civilians and civilian infrastructure as a shield for military activities constitute serious violations of international law. The IDF has demonstrated how Hezbollah terror militants are using civilian homes in Lebanon as weapons storage facilities and Lebanese civilians as human shields for their militant operations. I hope that once the fighting subsides and we eliminate the terrorist infrastructure and keep the Hezbollah terrorists away from the borders, we can return to living our lives in our small country with all its tribes and diversity of opinions and thrive once again in every possible way.
