What are your guests seeing? It's called 'Line of Sight' in hospitality. This was my view in a shuttle bus to the airport this morning. We often don't look at each area our guests will see. Good morning, it's time to look at your areas with fresh eyes. #LeadershipDevelopment #HospitalityLeaders #FutureOfHospitality #KeyLeadershipSkills #LeadershipQualities #Mentorship #ProfessionalGrowth Blue Mountain Solutions Values are: Growth, Impact, Fun, Trust & Transparency, Support and Accountability.

I'm prepping for my team orientation this week and this is one of my favorite videos to use for hospitality training. Once upon a time when Dee Ford was my manager, she introduced me to Danny Meyer and his perspective on hospitality and leadership. These are foundational beliefs which continue to support the success of my work and my team. Give this video a watch to learn more about the power of hospitality and putting your team's wellbeing first. https://lnkd.in/eQyqUUKB

Winning the Race! Working in a company is like competing in a race. People from diverse backgrounds and departments come together with a shared goal: to "win the race!" The success of any company depends on its people, and here are some proven steps to ensure peak performance: 1. Set Clear Expectations: Just like Captain America who strategizes and organizes the Avengers, you need to define what success looks like for your team. 2. Communicate Expectations: Your team members aren’t mind-readers like the X-Men. Even with superpowers, if they don’t know the expectations, they’ll struggle to succeed. 3. Manage Performance: Regularly sit down with your team to review their progress, discuss what’s going well, identify challenges, and determine how you can support them. 4. Give Honest Feedback: Consistently provide both positive and constructive feedback. Keep it real! don’t sugarcoat. 5. Document Performance: Keep records of your team’s performance, both formally and informally. This will give you concrete evidence to recognize achievements or address areas for improvement. By following these steps consistently, you’ll build a stronger team, enhance their performance, and ultimately, "win the race." Deputy Manager, The Blossom Nursery Family. CACHE Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for children and young people services approved by KHDA .
And is that not what true leadership is about? For the past 11 years, I have been part of a dragon boating team, waking up at 3:45AM three times a week. Yes, it is early, but there is something about the commitment, teamwork, and shared focus that keeps me coming back. The lessons I have learned on the water have had a huge impact on how I approach leadership in early years education. In dragon boating, we move together as one. Success only happens when we are in sync, every paddle hitting the water at the same time. It is not about individual effort, but the collective strength of the team, just like in education. As a leader, I see the value in listening to each other, working through challenges together, and making sure no one is left behind. The best outcomes come when we are all pulling in the same direction, whether it is staff or children. For me, teamwork is about showing up for each other, even when it is tough. Some days, quitting seems like the easy option, but I know my team is counting on me, just as I am counting on them. Making sure everyone feels empowered, valued, and ready to give their best. How do you approach teamwork in your role? What strategies help you create a strong, unified team in your workplace? Would love to hear your thoughts!🌟 The Blossom Nursery Family Babilou Mediclinic Middle East #barracudapaddlersdubai #Teamwork #Leadership #EarlyYearsEducation #DragonBoating #Commitment #Growth

Unexpected Leadership Lessons: Her Camping Trip Takeaways! Swapping the boardroom for the great outdoors this past weekend, my neighbor embarked on a camping adventure that turned into a surprising leadership development retreat. Disconnecting from the constant digital buzz allowed her to reconnect with nature and, more importantly, with some valuable leadership principles. Nature's Classroom: Adaptability Wins Mother Nature throws curveballs. One minute you're basking in sunshine, the next you're scrambling to put up a rain tarp as a sudden downpour rolls in. This adaptability became a potent metaphor for leadership. The ability to think on your feet, adjust plans when faced with the unexpected, and remain calm under pressure – these are all hallmarks of a great leader. Communication: The Glue that Holds It Together ️ Remember a time that you and your fellow campers argued over who packed the marshmallows? Yeah, clear communication is crucial in the wild, just like it is in any team setting. Whether it's delegating tasks, setting clear expectations, or navigating unfamiliar territory, effective communication keeps the group moving forward in harmony. Teamwork Makes the Camp Dream Work! Pitching a tent, building a fire, whipping up a campsite feast – these activities all showcase the power of teamwork. A strong leader fosters collaboration, empowers team members to utilize their strengths, and celebrates everyone's contribution to the shared goal. After all, a perfectly roasted marshmallow is a team effort! Beyond the Campfire: Share Your Wisdom! Her camping trip was a potent reminder that leadership lessons can be found anywhere, even under a blanket of stars. So, tell me, what unexpected places have you learned valuable leadership skills? Share your stories in the comments, and let's keep the campfire conversation going! #leadership #camping #outdoors #communication #teamwork #lifelonglearning tuneshare more_vert Upload an image This prompt requires an image that you need to add.
