We’re reflecting on the incredible partnership between our Living Knowledge Network and Hay Festival last month. Together, we brought over 140 screenings to 38 public libraries across the UK, from bustling city centres to charming rural community hubs. The sounds of Jeff Kinney’s gameshow, MC Grammar’s raps, and Hamza Yassin’s captivating tales of hippos sparked the imaginations of young library lovers. Max Hastings, Tom Holland, and Bettany Hughes transported us through history. And Elizabeth Day became our best friend. Thank you, Hay Festival and all our dedicated library partners, for making this extraordinary experience possible. Your collaboration brought the festival’s magic to life, enriching communities and inspiring countless individuals through the heart of our local libraries. 📰 🗞❔information sharing for those in the #Chicago region and the #arts / #artsandculture field as a potential case study. here's to hoping this change in the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events will not be disruptive to organizations or artists they support. . 🤔my viewpoint: as these things go, whether government or other organizations, ideally transparency and clear communication leads the conversation upfront so people aren't wondering why it occurred and how this affects them, especially in the area of public service. . #themoreyouknow #governmentaffairs . 📑Read on here https://lnkd.in/ekbuT-Aa

Can any of my actuarial or mathematician geeky type friends validate that: “Tens of Millions” is correct - Calling Bullshit (Again) Citing my mates at Google “tens of millions” is a phrase used to mention something huge in number. It could be any number above 10 million & below 100 million Currently 26+ Million in Oz In 2021, there were 315,705 babies born to 311,360 mothers in Australia. Let’s say work on 200k per year for the last 100 years and we get tens of millions of babies not boat people As of 2023, Australia's net overseas migration was 152.2 thousand people. In the 50s Agreements were reached with Britain, some European countries and with the International Refugee Organisation to encourage migrants, including displaced persons from war-torn Europe. By 1950, almost 200,000 people had arrived We would have to have this same number each and every year to get 2 million per decade ( and we didn’t ) them every decade for 7 decades gets us to 14 million - I guess if that were true ( but its just sensational maths ) Few of Craig’s teams own stats below Happy to be corrected as I was really bad at Maths ( Year 10 was the best five years of my life !) https://lnkd.in/gt3ryznT

Signing ‘The Foster Family’ on the Welcome Wall at the National Maritime Museum, which celebrates the tens of millions of Australians who arrived in Australia, mostly by boat. My family came in the early 1800’s. By boat. And yet we attack, demonise and exclude others who do so. People have a right to seek safety and we need to acknowledge our responsibility to show the world how they should be welcomed.

Classical Music Composer/Wind band/Brass Band/ Film score composer and soundtrack producer/Sheet Music publisher.
The war grave cemeteries in Normandy were once described as Silent Cities. A very apt title. These days we are once again witnessing the madness of war brought on us all by lunatics and mad men. This music is dedicated to the people who made and are still making the supreme sacrifice to stop them. Music composed and produced by William Malcolm Jones. This score is for a machine to play. Not for real musicians to play. The bowing and silent bars are there only to get emotion out of a machine. #MusicPublishing #MusicPublisher #Songwriter #Producer #MusicIndustry #SyncPlacement #MusicSupervision #Sync #MusicSync #SyncMusic #MusicSupervisor #MusicBusiness #SongwriterManagement #ProducerManagement #MusicIndustryBlog #MusicBusinessBlog
