What’s the most common denominator among unicorn founders in both developed and emerging markets? It’s not an Ivy League education or a stint at a Big Three consulting firm. It’s having had global experiences: moving countries at a young age, being immigrants, or having studied and worked extensively abroad (per Endeavor's data). At FEBE, we embrace this global mindset and aim to be the ideal partners for such founders: - FEBE’s partners are based in Southeast Asia, North America, and Europe. - Our team of less than 10 boasts six different nationalities, all sharing experiences of navigating different cultures. - Being global is more than just the number of countries we’ve visited or lived in. It’s a mindset: understanding both global trends and local specificities, and recognizing patterns across regions like LATAM and SEA. - Interestingly, 100% of FEBE’s founders share this international experience. The world is a village, and we aim to be the cottage keepers, nurturing global shapers with an artisanal approach. Aditya Pendyala Jai Choi Nicolas El Baze

Previously MD & VP / GM Europe/EMEA @ multiple start-ups / scale-ups. Now advising founders + Fractional Cx0. Track record growing revenues from $0-50m. Specialist in international expansion. A pedigree with hardware.
25+ years working with startups in the US and EMEA teaches you a thing or two, especially about helping founders (and I have been fortunate to have worked with some truly great founders) and their teams turn vision into reality. In a market where both budget and timeline constraints make hiring full-time executive roles a challenge for many early stage companies - something I am increasingly seeing driving engagements - fractional CxOs can quickly bridge the gap, as well as adding fresh perspectives, helping the team to focus on what’s going to make the most impact or simply being a sounding board. Last year, Benoît Simeray launched Squadra to address this need: a curated and international collective of seasoned fractional execs, mentors and coaches committed to driving real and tangible impact. I couldn’t be more excited to be part of it. https://squadra.team/ #fractional #fractionalleadership #fractionalexecutives #cxo #scaleup #startupgrowth #startupfounder

Thanks to The Information for including Kauffman Fellows on this prestigious list of fellowships alongside YPO, Henry Crown Fellowship, The Finance Leaders Fellowship, and The Forum of Young Global Leaders. “Since doing Kauffman, I don’t think there’s one international deal in any region where I can’t get to someone who I personally know through Kauffman or one degree of separation through Kauffman,” said Elliott Robinson (Bessemer Venture Partners). For two years, Fellows in the venture-specific program participate in small-group networking, executive coaching and speaker-led sessions on everything from deal flow to firm management. Over three-quarters of the venture capitalists in the Kauffman Fellowship network are partner level or above at their firms. At the end of the program, each Fellow presents a Big Idea to the rest of their class. Christopher Lyons, an Andreessen Horowitz general partner, used his presentation as the basis for the company’s Cultural Leadership Fund, which aims to empower Black stakeholders in technology investing. Kauffman “gave me a lot of initial inspiration to actually move forward and not just create something that was just going to live on paper but could actually be a real project,” said Lyons. Lux Capital’s Deena Shakir, Sozo Ventures’ Koichiro Nakamura, and 1315 Capital’s Adele (Cirone) Oliva are a few more names who’ve passed through the program. You may apply to be a Kauffman Fellow, but getting in is no small feat: Only about 6% of applicants are accepted every year, selected through a rigorous process involving extensive vetting, peer reviews, and diversity considerations. https://lnkd.in/gvp9jzTR

“It’s easier to move 3 things a mile than 30 things an inch.” This is the most impactful concept that I learned during the People Leader Accelerator (PLA) program. Reflecting on the past four months in PLA, I’m reminded of a conversation I had on one of my first days at Future. I told my manager how I saw my stint on the People Team as a stepping stone, aiming for a more strategic role. Frankly, I misunderstood the People field if I didn’t think it was strategic in nature. I couldn’t be more grateful that I stuck with it and learned how wrong I was. Initially, I stayed in the People Ops space because I deeply enjoy working with people and all of the challenges that come along with it. Nothing is black or white, and there’s no one formula or best practice that always works. As I’ve grown, I’ve come to understand that People Operations is not an administrative, paper-pushing department. It’s a strategic, integral part of the business that drives results. PLA reinforced for me the vital link between strategic decision-making and organizational impact. In the whirlwind of a high-growth startup, every day presents an opportunity to practice what we were discussing, reflecting on, and learning in the program. So what does it mean to me to be a strategic people leader? It means being able to say “no” or “not right now.” It means picking the right things to work on that will be most impactful to the business all while doing right by the people at your organization. This requires understanding the business and being embedded in it to build priorities that connect back to business goals. Because “it’s easier to move 3 things a mile than 30 things an inch.” What I initially thought was just going to be a quick blip on my career journey is turning into a much longer stay in the People Ops field and I couldn’t be more excited for the road ahead. So, sending a THANK YOU to my new PLA community and our incredible faculty Andrew Bartlow, Marie Szuts, & Carmela D. Krantz. So much gratitude for my mentor, Mara Jones, who is always a phone call away to guide me through any people question I could ever have. And Natalie Jones who saw the strategic people leader in me that I didn't yet know was there. I’m one lucky gal to have such great folks in my corner. Here's to the journey ahead!

At the end of the day, this doesn't matter.. for most. But for some it's the little signals that it doesn't matter where you come from, what your name sounds like, or the colour of your skin, or the lack of network, the lack of safety of your family's home, or even lacking German language skills. You can do whatever you want to do. You can work while you study to finance yourself, it may be laborious in the beginning but that will change, you can get scholarships (even though you don't qualify for most due to being from outside EU), you can get a bank loan to study at a private business school (just need a German guarantor), you can have a great career at big tech, or prestigious consulting companies, you can be an investor at a VC, you can even start your own company, you can get investors, co-founders, a team, you can navigate the bureaucratic challenges. You can do whatever you want - don't let yourself hold you back. Germany, despite its challenges, is a great place to be, to work, to study. Thank you Gründerszene STARTUP TEENS Business Insider for the 27 under 27 award. Robin Tschöpe for the mentorship going forward.

Gen.T Lister | ASEAN Youth Fellow | Chief Foresight Officer, GUILD | Bridging Nature, Tech & Community with Invention & Education | Eco Product Designer | LKYSPP Certified Futurist | MOE STEAM & Design Educator
I recently read a Straits Times article by Ms Sandra Davie about Singapore students topping global creative thinking rankings, and that fills me with immense pride and optimism. It's a testament to our nation’s dedication to nurturing the minds of our young, fostering a culture where creativity can flourish. Eight years ago, GUILD was founded to grow innovators and creative thinkers among our youth. Today, it’s heartening to witness a positive shift in our ecosystem, thanks to everyone’s relentless effort in supporting and prioritising creativity. 🚀 At GUILD, we believe creativity is integral to leadership. This trait, when nurtured in our youth early on, will be a big asset to them, especially when navigating challenges and solving problems. We make a clear distinction between Creativity, Invention, and Innovation, understanding that the latter would be nearly impossible without the former. Creativity is the necessary prerequisite for innovation, the spark that ignites progress. In our programmes, we immerse participants in at least one of the three dimensions of Creativity: 1. 𝐂𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲💡: Challenging norms, assumptions, and processes, pushing the boundaries of conventional thinking. 2. 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞💪: Being bold enough to take risks, step out of comfort zones, and learn new skills. 3. 𝐂𝐨-𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐭𝐲⭐🌟: Collaborating with others to create something new and impactful together. For me and my fellow team members, our journey at GUILD is a shared one, driven by a collective passion for fostering creativity. We’re shaping a future where innovative thinking and creative #leadership pave the way for unprecedented achievements. As we continue to grow, I am excited to see how our young #innovators will shape the future, armed with critical #creativity, creative #courage, and the spirit of co-creativity. Let's keep pushing the boundaries and supporting the next generation of creative leaders because, as a community, we can make a transformative difference in shaping our youth.. Join the Conversation with GUILD Asia | Ground-Up Innovation Labs for Development! 💡 Share your thoughts on the importance of creativity in leadership. 🤝 Collaborate with us to foster creativity in our communities. 📧 Reach out to us at support@groundupinnovation.org to get involved. #Creativity #Innovation #Leadership #GUILDGlobal #CreativeThinkers #Education #FutureLeaders #Singapore #CoCreativity #CriticalCreativity #CreativeCourage
