Peter Gale, former CIO and Head of Private Equity has become non-executive Chairman and hands over the role of CIO to Brooks Harrington. Since 2001, Nordic Capital has established strong roots in the DACH region, with our Frankfurt Advisory office established in 2008 and currently comprising a team of 22 professionals. Our colleague, Sebastian Wohlgschaft, recently participated in the WHU Private Equity Conference 2024, organised by WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management. The panel delved into discussions on the private equity landscape, covering topics such as navigating market dynamics, emerging trends, and strategic insights. When it comes to the middle market outlook, this year mirrors last year, but opportunities still exist for those willing to get creative with deal structuring, says Nick Stewart, Partner of the Investment Fund Group at Duane Morris LLP. What does he think the future holds for middle markets? Nick suggests they are watching for potential shifts if there’s a reduction in interest rates. Sellers are eager to enter the market, and buyers have significant capital to invest—$1 trillion domestically and $2.5 trillion globally. Additionally, with trillions set to transfer over the next two decades and only 40% of private businesses having succession plans, there’s a huge opportunity for strategic relationships and investments. Let’s get a deal closed!! Today’s #PayitForwardFriday brings a bevy of brainiacs from the Finance world – each with a different deal dynamic. Brennan Anderson, MBA took some time off from his modeling world tour, to show us all how to stripe it down the middle from each and every tee. Hexagon Capital Alliance LLC has to be pretty happy with their VP of Mergers and Acquisitions. He can source the right targets for his #Clients to acquire – and then just as expertly recommend the perfect The Duckhorn Portfolio wine for the closing dinner. Kevin Chang gave up some time from negotiating net lease investment sales around the country – so he could let me know he’s also better at golf than me. I’ve tried to explain that is NOT exactly a particularly exclusive club… Kevin is finishing up a nice run with JLL and is making the move and taking his talents to Lee & Associates Commercial Real Estate Services to continue knocking it out of the park. Thomas (Tom) Sherlock is the gentleman and scholar of our group. Seriously – when not serving as the Talonvest Capital, Inc. founder and leading expert in Commercial Real Estate Finance (I wanted to say “Advisor to the Stars – but Tom would not let me) – he’s giving back by teaching MBA RE classes at the University of California, Irvine - The Paul Merage School of Business.  I’ve been fortunate enough to be invited as a guest speaker on #acquisitions and how #duediligence applies the last few years. Seeing Tom in action is a true treat – that’s the scholar part. The “gentlemen” part was playing golf at my scorecard level! If I am being honest, I can’t think of a better weekend to post one of these on. #GoodFriday and #Easter to me – are the “reasons for the season” so to speak. We all have birthdays – but without the events of the next few days – Jesus was just another carpenter heretic. If you believe - His resurrection not only inspired an entire religion – it inspires me that my own personal growth and rebirth are well within his abilities to guide. If you are not a Christian – that’s ok too – the love is for everyone and whatever “faith/opiate for the masses” you may choose.
