Do you have a non-technical hobby?
I'm going to fire back up a hobby that's been on pause for a few years. My '79 Corvette Stingray, the kind of classic that turns heads (we're talking about the legendary C3 series from 1967-1982). But it'll be more than a restoration.
It's going to be an amazing chance to bond with my dad. He's already got 3 restoration's in his stable. '82 and '69 Corvette and a 1928 Ford Model A. Time to add to the family tradition!
Okay now for the fun part, here's my gameplan/dilemma. I'm torn between 2 paths (for a restomod):
1. Body Swap: Hunt down a compatible car for its chassis and give my '79 a new foundation. It's potentially budget-friendly but a bit of a risk.
2. Rolling Chassis: The more straightforward path, buying a new rolling chassis equipped with all the essentials—engine, transmission, wheels, and brakes. It's easier but requires more coin.
Car enthusiasts, I need your opinions. Which route would you take for this classic?
And everyone else, what's your go-to hobby away from the screen? How does it recharge your batteries and add new perspective to your life?
