“I never meant to be a long-term Church employee. “I started working nights as a part-time custodian at the Church Office Building, and let me tell you, that was the place to be. “I loved my time there but would have had to move on to a different employer after graduating college if I didn’t have a couple of leaders who took me under their wing. “They mentored me, advised me, and pushed me to apply for jobs I never would have considered on my own. “Looking back, I’m astonished at the care, concern, and time they invested in a college student who was probably going to quit. “They truly cared about me as a whole person and not just a body to get a job done. “After encouragement and several jobs within custodial, I applied for an administrative position within the Church and was astonished when I was selected. “Having worked for the Church for eight years now, it is the people that make the job the most rewarding. “I’ve never been part of a more positive or encouraging team, and I love being able to make an impact on my current department. “I came originally to get a job and stayed because the leadership here saw potential in me that I didn’t see in myself.” - Ashley Bartlome Editorial Assistant, Headquarters Facilities Department Click here to see if one of our open jobs is a good fit for you. Wow, I wish I had that kind of care and direction for my life. Sometimes it feels like I'm not going the right direction because I'm the one at the wheel. And if I could have other people guiding me based off their perception of me, maybe I'd be a lot further than I am right now.
I will be grateful to work for the church both on site or remotely .
One of my greatest dreams is to work for the Church. I am currently applying for a role that I think I would be perfect for and have applied for other jobs in the past. I just wish that I would receive a response back even if it’s a rejection letter. Most of the times I don’t get anything back which can be a little frustrating.
Thanks for sharing Ashley Bartlome! It was an absolute pleasure to work with you. If you know Ashley, you know that she is incredibly talented. Her talent shines through in everything she does.
Ashley, that is so great to hear. Many people often work in jobs/companies where they are not appreciated. Although they work hard and go beyond the call of duty, they are just not appreciated. Happy to hear that you are in a good position.
That is the best feeling to have your leadership help you reach your potential.

2moI would really love to permanently work for the Church. I have adequate experience that I would love to bring to doing my part in gathering Israel through my God given talents and skills. I have been submitting my CV's- I have only been called once for an interview that I thought I had nailed. I studied about the questions asked, so I can have an in-depth knowledge about the topics... I did a follow up as taught from Self Reliance classes... I have fasted, prayed and have been applying with my experiences matching the vacancies I applied for... still waiting in hope, with a pinch of discouragement. As President Monson taught in one of the Conferences- that "I must never give up".
