It is a good time to be a Swede as we continue to support Ukraine in the strongest ways possible. This week, we announced a $1.25 billion military aid package, including two ASC 890 airborne early warning and control aircraft. The ASC 890 aircraft will be deployed alongside F-16 fighter jets supplied by Belgium, Denmark, Norway, and the Netherlands. Sweden and Ukraine are also exploring joint production of Archer artillery systems and CV90 combat vehicles. Today, during President Volodymyr Zelensky's visit to Stockholm for the third Nordic-Ukrainian summit, Sweden and Ukraine signed a bilateral security agreement. 🇩🇪🛡️ Germany has signed a framework agreement with JUNGHANS Defence to procure 180,000 time fuses for 155mm artillery projectiles. The 10-year production and delivery agreement covers the DM52 electronic time artillery fuse, which is designed for illuminating, smoke, and sensor-fused ammunition. Lithuania Testing Iron Anti-Tank Obstacles ___________________________________ Video released by Lithuania's Ministry of Defense shows Lithuania is testing iron anti-tank obstacles that will soon reinforce the dragon’s teeth, fortifying bridges on the Kaliningrad route. These barriers are proven to effectively block heavy vehicles, significantly slowing any advance. If needed, firepower will be ready to support. Tank treads are surprisingly delicate and can be snapped by these barriers rendering the tank immobile. This forces the convoy to stop, making it a prime target. The U.S. Department of State has approved a potential Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Slovakia, involving Bell Flight AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters and related equipment and services. Valued at an estimated USD 600 million, this deal will mark a pivotal step in strengthening Slovakia's military capabilities and operational readiness. The Slovak government has requested the purchase of twelve AH-1Z attack helicopters, twenty-six T-700 GE 401C engines (including two spares), and 1,680 Advanced Precision Kill Weapon Systems (APKWS). Additionally, Slovakia aims to acquire fourteen Honeywell embedded global positioning and inertial navigation systems (with two spares), among other critical equipment.
