Does Accelerating the Fight Against Malaria Matter? As we observe World Mosquito Day this August, we reflect on our ongoing efforts to combat malaria, a major health challenge in Uganda and globally. This year’s theme, "Accelerating the Fight Against Malaria for a More Equitable World," highlights the urgent need for action and the disparities in access to care. We are proud to have collaborated with MACIS, the @Uganda Civil Society Alliance Against Malaria (UCAAM), the National Malaria Control Division (NMCD) of the Ministry of Health, and Malaria Partners on several initiatives aimed at eliminating malaria. We remain committed to eliminating malaria through initiatives like promoting insecticide-treated nets, supporting community health workers, and advocating for increased resources. Malaria is not just a health issue; it’s a social justice issue. Everyone deserves access to life-saving interventions, regardless of their circumstances. As we continue our work this month and beyond, we call on all stakeholders; governments, NGOs, and communities, to unite in this fight. Together, we can achieve a malaria-free Uganda and a more equitable world.
