Another surprising, and proactive, announcement from the BC government that is tied to employee benefits plans! The BC government surprised us last year with the coverage of contraceptives and now they have surprised us again with coverage for fertility treatments. These are very proactive measures for sure and they have positive implications for employee benefits plan sponsors. Many were looking at options to add fertility treatment to plans, particularly related to DEI initiatives, but struggled with the potential costs, so having the government support is welcome news. #employeebenefits #benefits #groupbenefits #betterbenefits

Birth defects can significantly impact the future of our next generation. That's why the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India is giving top priority to strategies for their identification, prevention, and management under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK). Dr. Paul said that there is a need to address the birth defects to lower the child mortality, though the ratio of birth defects’ mortality is less compared to deaths caused by malaria, pneumonia and other diseases. He said “under Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram our priority is to achieve a complete health for children and this National Birth Defect Awareness Month 2024 campaign would be catalyst in raising the awareness for the cause”. “More Intensity and more coverage needs to be done to redress the issue of birth defects”, he added. Early identification, coupled with assured linkage to care, support, and treatment, introduces an equitable child healthcare approach. This will eventually reduce the burden of disability, improve health, and ensure the development of children born with birth defects. Let's work together to prioritize the health and wellness of our future generation. #WorldBirthDefectsDay #BirthDefectAwareness #parentsupport #earlyintervention #brainhealth #cerebralpalsy #autism #dyslexiaawareness #specialcrawlfoundation #specialcrawl #specialneeds
