Tuesdays still have that ‘Taco Tuesday’ vibe, right? 🌮 Whether you’re still savoring the term or not, it was the first thing on my mind this morning. With many in my network on the hunt for new opportunities, I hope these #hiring tips hit the spot for job-seekers out there... T – Tailor your resume for each job — one size doesn’t fit all! Highlight your skills and experiences that are most relevant to the position. A – Apply with intention. Focus on jobs that excite you and match your skill set, and avoid the “spray and pray” approach. C – Connect with people and approach each conversation with genuine interest. Reach out to professionals in your desired field and join relevant groups to expand your knowledge and opportunities. O – Organize your job search. Keep track of applications and follow-ups to ensure nothing slips through the cracks. My last tip, but certainly not least, Centerfield is hiring and could be your next great opportunity! If you're feeling undervalued at work, it might be time to start exploring new job opportunities. To find a job that appreciates your skills and contributions, start by identifying your core values. Consider what matters most to you, such as work-life balance or growth opportunities, and use this to narrow down your search. Next, create a list of "must-haves" for your next job, including salary, location, benefits, and work assignments. Use this as a litmus test to evaluate potential job opportunities and determine if they're a good fit for you. Networking is also key to finding a job that appreciates you. Reach out to your professional network and let them know you're looking for new opportunities. They may be able to connect you with job openings or provide valuable insights into companies that are hiring. Make sure your resume and cover letter are up-to-date and tailored to the job you're applying for. Highlight your skills and accomplishments to show potential employers what you can bring to the table. And don't forget to prepare for interviews by researching the company and position, and preparing thoughtful questions. Remember, finding a job that values you takes time and effort. Don't get discouraged if you don't find the right opportunity right away. Keep applying and networking, and you'll eventually find a job where you feel appreciated. Good luck! There are many of our community looking for their next role. Once you land that perfect role, your next challenge will be to successfully onboard. There are are a few things to keep in mind. 1) You will never have as much attention on you as you do when you start a new role. It is like parents with a new baby. 2) Share some of that limelight with your colleagues. When you are praised for new ideas, include your co-workers. "Krista was the one who actually gave me the idea to update customers with this information" 3) Make an effort to understand how other functional areas work and the responsibilities of your fellow team members. These tips will serve you well in the years to come in your new role. P.S. I have landed two different roles with recommendations from former colleagues.

This! This is a perfect example of what I spoke to earlier this week, and I couldn't not share when I saw it this morning. The story of Jessica Rioux is a paragon of dedication and loyalty, and she is an exemplary professional with more knowledge than most who are actively in management and human resources departments (IMHO). Jessica started her career as a receptionist, and I would suggest she is way more than what her current title reflects. Her unwavering commitment and hands-on approach are what had her rising through the ranks. She embodies the very essence of growth and adaptability. And today, she stands as a testament to what dedication and continuous learning can achieve. You want to know what truly sets Jessica apart, though? Her story. We all have them. My favorite kind of inspiration are the stories, the achievements, the examples of others. Jessica has many, I am sure, but my favorite... Five years ago, as a single working mother, Jessica demonstrated extraordinary determination by pursuing and obtaining her BBA in Business Management & Human Resources - this is no small feat. And, mind you, I needed a little of that inspiration when I was first deciding whether or not I should go back to school. The hands-on experience she has collected over the last decade provides her with a unique perspective, enabling her to understand and address the nuances of workplace dynamics effectively. That experience makes her invaluable, her person Jessica mentions that Helen Keller once said, "Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." She, and many whose titles don't accurately reflect their contributions to their company, is/are a living embodiment of this philosophy, proving that collective efforts, guided by knowledgeable and dedicated individuals, lead to unparalleled success. Happy 10 years, Jessica, that Southern office is lucky to have you. #ProfessionalGrowth #HumanResources #Leadership #Dedication #CareerJourney #Inspiration #pulpandpaperindustry #chemicalindustry
Just over nine years ago, I accepted the position as receptionist at STEBBINS ENGINEERING. Much to my surprise, God had big plans to expand my horizons in the professional realm. Leaving the school system as a para professional, I had no clue the journey I would soon embark on. After eleven months at STEBBINS, I was offered the role of billing assistant. I accepted the role and embraced it with an open mind. Eleven months later I was asked to take on the role of Southern Operations Coordinator. Although I knew I desired growth, I was quite nervous. However, I pushed through the nervousness and embraced the challenge. It’s safe to say, I had no clue the depth of that challenge at the time. Yet, I persevered. Thankfully, many patient leaders took me under their wings and taught me about the role. My position as coordinator opened many doors of growth for me. It also opened my eyes to a whole new world that I hadn’t yet experienced. In 2018, I visited a jobsite for the first time in Fernandina Beach, FL. (Picture below) I was so proud to go out and see what I had a small part of bringing to fruition. To be a part of “the crew” for a few days gave me such a sense of pride. Today, after coordinating for seven years, I can honestly say that I have so much respect for the people in this industry. Being a part of it has afforded me the opportunity to meet many great people and appreciate the skill set of each individual. As I move toward my tenth year, I look forward to learning and growing much more with our team. “Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much.” – Helen Keller

The optimal blend lies in aligning motivation with culture.
I HIRED someone with ZERO experience. He had never worked in this specific role. I thought he would be a great fit with our culture so we took a chance on him. He ended up being my top performer. Sometimes all people need is a chance. Agree? Brigette Hyacinth
