To help support this mission, we are seeking to hire a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance (PA) Program Delivery Manager. This is an on-site, contract-based position. In this role, an individual will provide support for financial duties aiding a disaster recovery program, responsible for tasks as assigned by the client. Successful candidates must have a minimum of two years of professional experience, preferably in management consulting or in a role directly supporting the FEMA PA Program, and previous experience with financial analysis and reconciliation. On the evening of Wednesday, October 9, Hurricane Milton made landfall near Siesta Key, Florida, as a Category (Cat) 3 hurricane before weakening to a Cat 1 as it traveled east across the Florida Peninsula. Officials report that at least 19 confirmed tornadoes spawned from Milton's outer bands, resulting in fatalities and widespread structural damage. Additional impacts include storm surge of over eight feet, prompting more than 42 land and water rescues across Florida. Although Hurricane Milton is tracking away from Florida into the Atlantic Ocean, it continues to bring hazards to communities across the state. Hurricane Milton, currently a powerful Category (Cat) 4 storm, is expected to make landfall along Florida’s west-central coast tonight or early tomorrow, bringing "life-threatening" storm surge up to 15 feet, intense rainfall, catastrophic flooding, and extreme winds. Mandatory evacuations are in effect for 15 counties, with voluntary evacuations in 13 more, and 155 shelters open statewide. Local, state, and federal officials urge those in the storm's path to complete preparations and seek safe shelter, warning of the likelihood of prolonged power outages and potentially significant structural damage to property.
