Oktoberfest runs through October 6, and you don’t have to be Bavarian to observe this time-honored tradition. Last year Germans consumed almost 1.7 million gallons of beer at the Munich festival, but restaurants in the United States celebrate in their own fashion. A few last-minute ideas you can try: 🍺 Develop a beer promotion. Create specials around a German beer if you serve one. If not, promote a brand that needs a little love, enticing your guests to try something new. 🇩🇪 For non-beer drinkers, try other options, like a German wine, or a German-inspired food item (Schnitzel, Frankfurter, Bratwurst, Pretzels, etc.). ↩️ Create bounce-back specials for returning guests. (For example, spend a minimum amount on one Oktoberfest item and receive a complimentary beer or wine when you return before the end of October.) Hope this inspires some Oktoberfest revenue uptick at your restaurant. Prost! #RestaurantMarketing #RestaurantCampaigns #BounceBackCampaigns #Oktoberfest

Don’t get me wrong, we love olive oil, but sometimes, you have to let someone else take center stage. Most of us are familiar with wine, coffee, and chocolate tastings, but have you ever heard of a bread tasting? We certainly had not, but we were intrigued. Our latest article dives back into the work of Comunita Grano Alto and their recent gathering, #fornifornaie2024. So, the question is: when you savor your next slice of bread, what flavors come to mind? Share your thoughts and reflections in the comments below! What Guinness World Records Teaches Us About Thinking Beyond Your Industry Did you know Guinness World Records and Guinness beer are from the same company? 🤯 In the 1950s, Guinness faced a challenge: how could they get people to stay longer in pubs, talk more, and—let’s be honest—drink more beer? Instead of launching another ad campaign, they asked a bigger question: What can we create that truly adds value to the pub experience? Their solution was pure genius: The Guinness Book of World Records. A book filled with fascinating facts and record-breaking achievements that could settle pub debates and spark conversations. The foreword in the very first edition captures the idea beautifully: "Wherever people congregate to talk, they will argue... But more often the argument takes place on a dispute of fact, and it can be very exasperating if there is no immediate means of settling the argument." By solving a simple problem outside their product category, Guinness didn’t just sell beer—they created a legacy. The Guinness Book of World Records became a cultural icon, bringing value to millions of people long after the pub debates ended. Here’s the takeaway: Sometimes, you need to think beyond your product—or even your industry—to solve problems and create value for your audience. When you do, you don’t just sell—you connect. You create something unforgettable. So, the question is: What’s your version of the Guinness Book of World Records?
