We are excited to announce the launch of our "Strength in Numbers" campaign, a vital initiative aimed at enhancing our fight against human trafficking. Our goal is to secure 524 new members of the Team 1591 community before the end of Summer 2024. This would allow us to hire another dedicated analyst and would result in another 250 victims being identified per year at a minimum. Why Your Support Matters Human trafficking is a complex, organized crime that devastates lives and communities. By joining the Team 1591 community, you will provide us with the recurring funding needed to: 1. Identify Patterns: Analyzing data to uncover trafficking patterns where our law enforcement partners are standing ready to take action. 2. Support Law Enforcement: Providing valuable information online to law enforcement partners for their targeted operations. 3. Protect Victims: Enhancing law enforcement’s ability to locate victims and offer them a path to freedom. The Power of Monthly Donations Your regular contributions will enable us to plan effectively, allocate resources wisely, and sustain our mission over time. Just $15.91 a month can have a profound impact, as small amounts add up to significant support. Real Stories, Real Impact Meet Charlotte, a survivor who was recovered thanks to the diligent work of Guardian Group’s internal Analysis Team. An analyst recognized indicators of trafficking in an escort ad listing Charlotte for sale, they then worked to determine her true identity. This information was shared with local law enforcement and led to a successful law enforcement operation, saving Charlotte, and others from a life of exploitation. Charlotte is now thriving and rebuilding her life. How You Can Help: 1. Join Team 1591: Your monthly donation contributes to a collective effort that can bring about significant change. 2. Spread the Word: Share our campaign with friends, family, and colleagues. The more people who join, the faster we can achieve our goal. Donate Now: https://bit.ly/4bcfOqT By joining the Team 1591 community, you are making a lasting commitment to ending human trafficking. Together, we can make a significant difference. #Nonprofit #StrengthInNumbers #GuardianGroup

Our children are worth infinitely more than paper money, yet our laws treat them as less. When someone embezzles money, they face long jail sentences. But when a child's life is stolen through trafficking, the consequences are often far less severe. It's time to value our children as the priceless beings they are and demand justice that truly reflects the gravity of this crime. The punishment for stealing a child's innocence should be as severe, if not more, than for stealing money. If you want to stay up-to-date with us, follow our Page.

Raleigh Crimestoppers Helps Solve Crimes. Tipsters call the CrimeStoppers tips line and speak with a CrimeStoppers coordinator. This line does not provide caller ID, and conversations are not recorded. Information gleaned from the call is given to an investigating officer. Tips received can include responses to requests for information publicized by the media or other crimes the caller knows about. By guaranteeing anonymity, CrimeStoppers allows tipsters to give information without the threat of retribution. Offering cash rewards for information leading to arrests encourages tipsters to provide information.

WASPC is a great organization headed by some of the best educated and progressive law enforcement leaders in the State of Washington. They have gone out of their way to voice their support for I-2113, as nearly all law enforcement officers and groups representing law enforcement have over the last few months. Since house bill 1054 was put in effect we have seen an increase in homicides to an all time high, a 30 year high of traffic fatalities, an all time high of auto thefts and the highest per capita auto theft rate of any state in the country. We have also seen a dramatic increase in violent and non violent offenses and repeat offenders completing those offenses without fear of capture due to the most restrictive pursuit laws of any state. These offenders are often identified with felony charges and warrants against them for weeks or months but due to the restrictions placed on our public servants they are allowed to victimize more residents and businesses for far too long knowing that they can just drive away from the scene of a crime without any timely repercussions. Average Washington drivers and businesses are seeing this effect them personally with some of the largest insurance premium increases in the country for auto and business insurance. Even Washington States own workers compensation system is reporting increases in injuries to workers due to violence and vehicle collisions. One police department reported today that the number of vehicles fleeing from their officers increased from 10 in 2020 to 431 in 2022. As a state we have consistently been last out of all states for law enforcement officers per capita and one of the lowest for law enforcement spending per capita over the last 20 years. Combining those factors with short sighted legislation like house bill 1054 makes for communities and residents that are less safe then they were before. It is past time to restore the ability for law enforcement officers in Washington State to pursue criminals when safe to do so. If you are a resident or an agent/owner of a business that is located in Washington State please voice support for I-2113 here: https://lnkd.in/dRnfQM_c
WASPC is a nonprofit organization and, generally, does not engage in ballot initiatives. However, given the Legislature’s decision to hear the initiative and our consistent engagement in the underlying substantive policy, WASPC seeks to offer its strong support for the issues addressed in I‐2113. More on that in our statement here: https://lnkd.in/gh9eDQQu

The officers responded to a call of a brown man stabbing someone. Was that subject actually ever arrested as he ultimately was the cause of the tragedy. The problems with this case were obviously seen at the bail proceedings in 2021 where the presiding judge deemed the case extremely weak. Sadly such information was subjected to a publication ban. The suspect information of a brown man stabbing someone never indicated a family man with his pregnant wife and baby. Those paremeters didn’t form grounds for such interaction in the first place other than perhaps warning Mr. Zameer and family to be careful. The next question would be why was a 55 year old officer with health conditions put in this position in the first place. No offence but he had more than paid his duties over the years and management should have placed him in a less dangerous position. The case regrettably resulted in the death of this officer. There is no doubt that anger, grief and some entitlement of reckoning led to a “tunnel vision” investigation in which common sense ignored the actual facts and circumstances. This was a homicide and there is no way it was simply left in the hands of the major crime officers who attended the call. There is no way notes were done separately without any input from each other and others. The actual forensics confirmed their evidence did not match the reality of what actually happened. It was simply a bad arrest process that conflicts with best practice. Everyone knows in a plain clothes capacity that you should always have a uniform presence when possible in making such arrests. You need to position vehicles properly to hinder escape. Time is always on the side of police. Sadly it was a dogs breakfast that had a horrible but avoidable outcome. Sadly the case really should have been reviewed from the onset with the bail judges concerns. Most definitely once the forensics came through. https://lnkd.in/eY5hdAEf

Since 2016 First H.E.L.P. has worked tirelessly to Stop the Stigma around suicide and First Responders. With each passing day, we get one step closer. Today, we take another step forward as the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund has now adjusted its by-laws to include death by suicide. This proves change is happening but not every death by suicide will be approved to be added to the wall. The final determination is up to the NLEOMF Naming Committee and as a non-profit, they are allowed to include a death by suicide how they deem fit. The NLEOMF alone determines which names are added to the wall - a reality that not only suicide survivors are faced with, but anyone who applies. We are hopeful that in 2025 we see the first of many law enforcement officers who died by suicide, honored on the Memorial Wall. Regardless of whether an officer who died by suicide is added to the Memorial Wall or not, they served and protected, and thanks to First H.E.L.P. they will always have a place where they will be remembered in Rockwall, TX on the Wall of Service. The updated by-laws for the NLEOMF are located here. https://lnkd.in/gKZdB7hv (scroll to the bottom) The application for submitting an officer is located here. https://lnkd.in/gPrF3_Qa . . . . #LawEnforcement #NLEOMF #PoliceSuicide #FirstResponders #FOP #IACP #NeverForget #HonoringHeroes #FirstHELP #BlueHELP #BackTheBlue #BackTheBadge #Police #PoliceOfficer #COPS #ConcernsOfPoliceSurvivors #HonorTheFallen #StopTheStigma
