I am #Hiring for a Recruitment Consultant. Internal Recruiter 𝐯𝐬 Recruitment Consultant: 1) Internal Recruiter: In this role, you're typically filling positions within the company YOU work for. Your focus is on hiring internally and you are not working with external clients. This role can often be called many names such as Talent Acquisition Specialist, Corporate Recruiter, etc. 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭: This role is generally seen as more '𝐇𝐑-𝐟𝐨𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐝,' as internal recruiters typically don't work on commission or follow a sales promotion path. I say 'typically' because, as an internal recruiter myself, I still work with sales targets and commissions. However, if you're aiming for an HR role in recruitment, it’s likely to be an internal position rather than an agency one! 2) Recruitment Consultant: In this role, you're fulfilling the hiring needs of outside clients, not hiring for the company you work at. You're placing candidates in roles within the external companies/clients you're recruiting for! 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭: If you're seeking a more 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬-𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 role in recruitment, this would be the path I'd advise you to take. You'll likely have a salary structure with commission, a growth path driven by targets, and overall a work environment that’s completely different from HR! ‼️ Stop Searching Outside—Look Within Your Organization First One of my friends, a skilled logistics specialist, was forced to move to Germany in 2022. Back home, he worked for one of the largest companies in the field, but in a new country, things were different. Without fluent German or knowledge of the local market, his job options were limited, and like many others in his position, he turned to non-qualified work to make ends meet. He joined one of Germany’s largest parcel delivery companies—a business with hundreds of open vacancies and, no doubt, a recruitment budget of hundreds of thousands of euros. 💡 Here’s the interesting part: this company already has a qualified logistics expert in their workforce—my friend. And they got him for €0 in recruitment costs. 🤦♂️ But here’s the problem: no one has noticed. All it would take is recognition of his skills and a tailored adaptation program, and I’m confident everyone would benefit. The company would gain a highly qualified employee, and my friend could return to doing what he does best. 🤔 This made me think: why do companies spend so much on finding new employees when they may already have the talent they need right in front of them? And it’s not just about hiring. I’ve seen businesses pour huge amounts of money into acquiring new customers while neglecting their dormant or inactive ones in their existing database. ✅ Sometimes, the most valuable resources aren’t outside—they’re already inside, waiting to be discovered. 🔍 Take a moment to look inward. Incredible lesson learnt for HR / Hiring Managers. 113 Applications to our Account Manager role, and 0% of applicants READ THE POSTING! 1. We forgot to remove the "Easy Apply" button, which we're going to remove and repost. 2. We had a test in the application. Applicants had to make a 1-2 minute video using free Vidyard about "why they applied / good fit". They then need to email that to our talent acquisition team. NOT ONE SINGLE SELLER DID THIS... No, it's not a process thing. We ask 100% of our offshore sales & marketing hires to do the same in Bangladesh, and we have 40 amazing hires that followed the process. This is broken process / skill inside sales today. #hiring #hr #talentacquisition

This is a common issue that people are facing within the commercial and industrial solar sector in Germany. If we unpick it, we can find a few challenges and possible solutions: - Is the EVP you are taking to market strong enough to attract the right type of candidates to your company? ❓🤔 - Are you only speaking to the actively searching part of the talent pool? Specifically in Sales, top performers are well-paid and well-looked after. They are called golden handcuffs for a reason. 🔍 - How are you engaging the passive part of the talent pool? In-directly or directly? - Do you have a challenge around location? Is the talent pool in your area small and do you need to look further afield? What can we do to solve it: - Work with HR to build a strong EVP, I'm talking, job packs, digital landing pages advertising the job, video outreach. Make it as easy as possible for someone thinking about applying to get to know your company without speaking to anyone 🏠 - Directly approach the passive part of the talent pool using your internal team or working with a headhunter 📞☎️ - Use data from your search process to understand where the people are based that are suitable for the role - adapt your criteria of your search based on the results.
