We are excited to share a tiny sneak peek into the key findings from #CCUS stakeholder interviews conducted by Senni Määttä from Radboud University! Understanding the complexities of CCUS deployment means recognising the many interconnected dimensions, enablers and barriers. A holistic approach is crucial to ensure CCUS efforts support, rather than hinder, other interventions. #CCUS #Sustainability #HorizonEU #CINEA #CaLby2030

Our Vice President of Strategy and Innovation, Stefano Spagna, spoke with Carlos Munoz from the University of North Dakota about his impressions of the FusionScope® at the American Physical Society March Meeting last week. 📣 "It really removes all the different variables that we have while we're doing our research. And for us, when we're trying to pump out papers, trying to pump out research, get good quality data, being able just sit at the same machine, do it all in a really, really simple fashion - that's priceless for us." Learn how you can take your #correlativemicroscopy research to the next level by visiting fusionscope.com. #AFM #SEM #APSMarch
A great pleasure to meet Carlos Munoz from the University of North Dakota. His impressions utilizing the FuionScope "live" at the APS march meeting in Minneapolis! great excitement!! #CarlosMunoz #FusionScope #correlativemicroscopy #AFM #SEM #EDS

Lower Limb Strength, Power, and Acceleration Performance. ...These findings echo previous research in similar athletic populations and underscore the importance of lower limb relative strength in acceleration and sprint performance, which is of great importance in team sports success. Additionally, the study's utilisation of GPS technology to assess acceleration-sprint speed offers notable advantages over traditional methods like radar guns or timing gates, providing a more efficient and less intrusive means of data collection during field-based assessments. It's finally here: the PhD defence of John Stuart Mill College's very own Akshath Jitendranath. You (current & former PPE students) are all very warmly invited to witness the day: Akshath PhD defence and award ceremony 4 June 2024 1.30 – 3.00 PM Auditorium, VU Main Building (De Boelelaan 1105) For those who can’t make it to VU, this is the link to witness it online: https://lnkd.in/dtC8btkU Of course Akshath would be even happier if you were to witness it with him in person. If you could and are planning to do that, and are considering partaking in the post-defence celebrations (we hold a positive credence that there will be something to celebrate indeed, as Akshath will no doubt successfully defend himself), there will be two of them, a reception and a dinner, at a for now undisclosed location (expect to cover these, kept at a minimum cost, rounds yourself, as a way of supporting Akshath). The location will be disclosed on the day itself or get in touch if you want to know more, in the meantime. It surely couldn't be a hard choice to decide whether you'll come along. But if it is, don't worry as Akshath's PhD thesis is exactly on that. So, he might not help you resolve them, but he'll at least help you figure out if you're facing one or not. Should you decide to come along, it would be very helpful if you could indicate that here: https://lnkd.in/dRQS-AmR Hoping to see many of you on June 4th! Peter Andreas Nielsen & Marina Uzunova

🚀 Excited to share our latest research on the dynamics of sprint performance! 🚀 Our newly published pilot study, "𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲-𝗩𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗘𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀," delves into the critical mechanics behind elite sprinting. 🏃♂️🏃♀️ We explored the association between hamstring rate of torque development (RTD) and key sprint variables like maximal power output (Pmax), theoretical velocity (V0), and horizontal force production (F0). Despite not finding significant correlations, intriguing trends emerged, particularly on the dominant leg. Key findings: 🎯Hamstring RTD showed potential links with Pmax and V0 on the dominant leg. 🎯The non-dominant leg's RTD indicated trends towards Pmax and F0. Our study emphasizes the need for further research to fully understand these relationships and enhance training protocols for sprinters. 📄 Read the full study here: https://lnkd.in/eN7Hj5zr Let's push the boundaries of sports science together! 💪 #SportsScience #SprintPerformance #AthleteTraining #Biomechanics Ayrton MOIROUX--SAHRAOUI Jean Mazeas Maurice Douryang Ismail BOUZEKRAOUI ALAOUI
