5,000 new employees in two years, making up 25% of our current workforce. Coming from an accounting background, I have always believed that numbers can tell a story. And these certainly paint a picture of how RWE is changing, transforming, and developing. Starting out as a local utility company in Germany over 125 years ago, to becoming one of the leading renewable energy companies in the world. Our presence has now grown to almost 30 countries worldwide. We are still strongly rooted in Germany and our European core markets, and we have sprouted and added a few branches. The US stands as our largest market outside of Europe – in terms of installed capacity but as well as in terms of employees. We are also growing our presence in the APAC region. Growth that I myself have been lucky to see first-hand when travelling to meet our passionate and dedicated #TeamRWE across all our core markets. Which brings me to the crucial building block of this transformation - our people. What we are seeing is a technological transformation, which is not just calling for more employees but new and different skillsets and expertise, leading to new job profiles. That means besides re- and upskilling of our current workforce to also upskill new employees – hiring for attitude and training them up. Our employees are the basis for our success. And to honour this, we want to be the employer of choice in the energy sector. Our aim is to keep recruiting the best minds whilst also nurturing our talent and experts. We have already come far but our growth journey is still continuing, and I am very excited to be part of it.

And it is with great excitement I await my next adventure…. Having successfully delivered on the vision and promise I set out 4 years ago to transform the GE Gas Power demand processes; improving forecast data timeliness and quality (advancing from 6 to 48 months with zero redundancy), streamlining order conversion processes (82% reduction in user input with 100% user autonomy) and driving increased project planning maturity (avoiding $$MM in cost of poor quality) - it is with a great sense of pride and satisfaction that I have now handed this initiative off to the continuous improvement team and I am looking for my next ‘impossible’ challenge! I have had a wonderfully fulfilling time with the GE Vernova team. I have been privileged to work inside it’s Repair Service Shops, with the Controls organisation, inside the Grid business, across the Field Services team (FieldCore) and I have traveled the world as part of global HQ serving the great talent across the regions. I have had the honour of working with amazing customers and managing brilliant teams of Engineers and Craftsmen as we breathed new life into Power Stations, equipping them for the Energy Transition. And I have had the thrill of spearheading and implementing exciting new market leading innovations to our field teams with some brilliant and inspirational minds.
