This meme got me thinking about my favorite marketing mantra: "We're marketers, not magicians." 🎩✨ No matter how advanced AI gets, we can't conjure up leads, conversions, and sales from thin air. Marketing success will always depend on the total resources invested, including man-hours and budget. 🕒💰

More often than not, I’ve heard clients start the conversation with blank statements like *I have done a little marketing. I know how things work* Imagine you’ve hired a talent as your marketing manager, who carries with them years of experience and yet you never allow them reach their full potential, because you think you know better? What a waste of capital and time. Stakeholders who do everything reach nowhere. If Hiring talent is an art, retaining them is a monumental task. There’s a thin line between the act of overseeing and interference. Know when to stop. Learn to take a step back. Let people do what they are hired for.

Long post coming up! Not very Demure apologies 😉 Been thinking whether or not to post this for a while now, but can’t keep my mouth shut any longer. I genuinely have always loved working in marketing. There is always so much that can be done. What I’m not loving at the moment? The marketing industry. Here in Malta, I personally feel it has become an us versus them scenario. Even when speaking with peers and collaborators, this is the current issue we’re facing and I’m glad I’m not the only one noticing this. Marketing employees or freelancers vs. agencies vs. influencers vs. content creators. Malta is a small island with enough work for everyone, let’s keep it professional and respectful in the way we speak with each other and collaborate. Let’s not assume we all know what each other’s job is and the circumstances they have, let’s be respectful, be mindful, be DEMURE. Trend puns aside, I genuinely love working with other people, be it a photographer, an influencer, a DJ or another local company. There is so much that can be done, let’s get to work and stop this nonsense of us versus them 🙏 Stay kind, with feet on the ground #overandout

Look. Here's my tip for my marketers out there. Yes, this is real. It will never go away. Beset advice is to try to reframe it. People are exposed to marketing all day, of course they have ideas. Much like your ideas in a brainstorm, most of them will not be that great. But sometimes they are. A few of my best performing major campaigns were fully pitched by exactly this person. They were brilliant. And we never would have come up with them on our own. Making sure you encourage the flow of ideas increases your shots on goal. So, listen to the pitch. Use it to improve your own, or zone out, but don't be mean about it. That'll kill the inflow of ideas. Be supportive.

If your Target Audience is Everyone Aged 18 to 65, You're definitely selling air, water, or free money. Get this straight once and for all, your Target Audience is not everyone for the Love of God. If you're unsure of your Target Audience, there is absolutely no harm in learning about them. P.S.
