Once again AI is making headlines in the Medical world by expanding the frontier of care. This recent development in Breast Cancer diagnosis is affordable and more readily available than other methods. AI is proving to be an instrumental tool in establishing equity to an ever growing number of patients. The question remains: How can we better equip physicians to integrate these technologies into healthcare spaces and how can we improve the discourse around these technologies in the Medical Fields? One way I can see these development being made is through inviting more technically skilled engineers and scientists into the healthcare industry and empowering future physicians to develop backgrounds in hardcore technical fields. Just some food for thought!
MIT and ETH Zurich researchers have developed an AI breakthrough for breast cancer detection. Their new model accurately stages ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) using simple breast tissue images. By analyzing cell organization and state, it helps clinicians avoid over-treatment and tackle complex cases more effectively. This innovation promises a more efficient and cost-effective way to diagnose DCIS. https://lnkd.in/eKcaJn93

美國麻省理工學院 Science is always of the human, for the human, and by the human. The recent IT security catastrophe from CrowdStrike was solved by human, NOT by AI nor by any science/technology. Is there any AI that can answer the following questions of business intelligence? "Who, in the Ontario province of Canada, have new US patents granted on the nearest Tuesday (Eastern Time), when the USPTO releases the newly granted US patents on a weekly basis?" "Who, in the "江蘇" province of China, have new US patents granted on the nearest Tuesday (Eastern Time), when the USPTO releases the newly granted US patents on a weekly basis?" With our intellectual property (IP), a Chinese-English multilingual metadata, we can get the full list answers for the above questions. This is a fact. Do you or any of your contacts need our expertise/IP to do the data analysis that AI can't do? Metadata is an enabler. It is like a treasure map for treasure hunting. Without metadata, like a treasure map, NO data can be found/retrieved, even by the most advanced technologies, like AI, high-end chips, supercomputers, etc. https://lnkd.in/g-aJFnXR

🆕 Recent clinical trial results demonstrated the potential of an investigational visualization system to identify residual #breastcancer following removal of the primary specimen during initial lumpectomy. In the study, the Lumicell Direct Visualization System (DVS) identified cancer remaining after the standard-of-care lumpectomy procedure in approximately 8% of patients. In the majority of these patients, standard pathology assessment had deemed margins negative and would have left the tumor behind. In this interview, Barbara Smith, MD, PhD, discusses the Lumicell Direct Visualization System and how it can enhance breast cancer detection. 👨💻 Watch Now❗:
