The first stop in our Massachusetts leg of the Compassionate Caregiver FunDrive took us to a tropical party complete with games, fun drinks and a car show! Avita of Newburyport put together a Hawaiian Luau right in Newburyport. Co-founders, Jim Coughlin and Wendy Nowokunski were able to catch up with associates, meet a few of our valued referral partners and spend time with family members. Avita of Newburyport Maintenance Director, Marie, gifted Jim and Wendy handmade signs that spell out their last names. It’s been amazing to see the many creative celebrations our communities have planned but the best part is always the moments spend talking with associates and being reminded of the reason for the FunDrive, the Compassionate Caregiver Fund, which provides support for associates during their time of need. If you are interested in donating to our Compassionate Caregiver Fund, follow this link: https://lnkd.in/eSTNm5ZE. The weather may be warm but our FunDrive celebration continues on!

The Oval Partnership are once again taking part in the Samworth Charity Challenge on 18th May 2024 to raise funds for Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice. It's an exhilarating & gruelling adventure race for teams of four, where you are required to plan and navigate your way around the course in order to collect points. The event is held every 2 years and will see our team pushed to the limits on a triathalon course which includes Mountain, Canoe & Cycle stages with all being approximately 3 hours duration and will be held near Ambleside in the Lake District. That sounds easy right? Wrong! this isn't a walk in the park. There are 2 difficulties to choose from, Tough and Elite and we know from past experience they are not for the faint hearted. But the charity that we support makes this challenge worthwhile. Bluebell Wood Childrens Hospice help children with end of life care and provide bereavement support to their families through what is such a challenging period to make what time they have left special. Please follow this link to donate: https://lnkd.in/egw6pGYv Every donation will help them no matter how big or small. Thank you so much for your donations from all of us at The Oval Partnership 😊. 2 civic responsibility opportunities I would like to bring to your attention: 1) I joined the movement to create positive change for moms and babies everywhere, especially those most at risk. With preterm birth and maternal death rates continuing to rise, I’m committed to raising funds so that every family gets the best possible start. But I need your help. Please visit my fundraising page to make a donation. Together we’ll be part of a movement to make America a more equitable place and ensure that every mom and baby is healthy. https://lnkd.in/gNx_pGje 2) I am also volunteering with the American Red Cross as a Ready Rating Program Advisor. The Ready Rating Program is a free service provided through a partnership between the American Red Cross and the Canadian Red Cross. It assists businesses, schools, and organizations in becoming prepared for disasters and other emergencies, helps meet OSHA requirements, and aligns with some Baldrige criteria (see 1.2c2 & 6.2c). I need to reach businesses & organizations about this free program to help improve preparedness throughout the U.S. https://lnkd.in/gTDSYizK.

To most of us, a bed is something that we cozy into each night... for the families that we are serving, this is something that they cannot even imagine, that they would be able to get off the floor and into a bed. Beds are one of the most critical items we provide, bringing comfort, security, and dignity to families emerging from crisis. Right now, we have a backlog of families who desperately need beds—a place for their children to sleep safely and comfortably. If you were to visit our warehouse today, you’d see rows of beds, but here’s the reality: every single one of them is already spoken for. We're grateful for the generous donations we receive, but the need far outweighs what we currently have. For every one bed we give, we get a request for 3 more... and we’re struggling to meet that demand. 🌟 Why are we sharing this with you? 🌟 Every dollar you donate goes directly to helping us fill in the gaps—ensuring that when we’re short on key items, we can purchase them to meet a family’s immediate needs. ➖Some weeks, we may have plenty of mattresses but no bed frames. ➖Other weeks, we may have an abundance of sofas but not enough dressers. ➖One week, we could have 10 dining tables but zero chairs to go with them. Your donation allows us to cover the missing pieces and ensure that each home is fully furnished, bringing stability and comfort to families in need. Would you consider donating today and help get kids off the floor? ➡️https://lnkd.in/gw88qUv9 #fullyfurnishedministries #getkidsoffthefloor #impact #theneedisgreat #beds #donations

With 1 in 4 pregnancies ending in loss and four babies stillborn each week in Scotland, the need for our services is profound. While we cannot prevent the death of a baby, with your support, we can ensure that no one must walk alone after such a heartbreaking loss 🌈 Compassionate bereavement support should be accessible to all, without financial or time constraint. Will you donate £4 and consider setting up a regular giving amount to ensure we can continue supporting families through baby loss, whenever they need us and for as long as they need us. Text FOUR to 70460 to donate £4. Nominate 4 by sharing this post and tagging 4 people #TogetherWeCare #Give4BLAW24 Texts will cost the donation amount plus one standard network rate message, and you’ll be opting into hearing more from us. If you would like to donate but don’t wish to hear more from us, please text FOURNOINFO instead. Held In Our Hearts baby loss counselling and support services are a lifeline for grieving families; providing a Hospital Home service, counselling, peer support, community support and resources to help families cope with their loss. However, these services rely heavily on charitable donations and diminishing grant funding, despite the growing need for them. By raising awareness and funds during Baby Loss Awareness Week, we can help ensure that these services remain free and are available to all who need them, for as long as they need them. By donating £4 and sharing this post you are standing with families during their most challenging times, ensuring they receive the care and compassion they deserve.

Child Protection Consultant |Improving care for children | Care Reform Coach| Norwegian-English Translation services
As I work to aid Charitable children institutions in transitioning towards family and community care, I often come across organizations dealing with children aging out of the care system. These children often lack independent living skills and encounter numerous obstacles, sometimes without supportive community networks. It's disheartening that they have to leave the system without the support and love of a family. Facilitating the search for suitable families for these children is crucial in ensuring their continued growth and well-being beyond institutional care. #carereform #familycare

Sounds fun…
Our Houston Area volunteers teamed up with two of our Weatherford Walks charitable partners, Small Steps Nurturing Center and PTSD Foundation Of America, and dedicated their efforts to giving back to the local community! The One Weatherford Team had a fantastic experience as they rolled up their sleeves, cleaning up classrooms at Small Steps and assisting with garden maintenance at Camp Hope. A big thank you to our volunteers who participated in these events, and to our charitable partners for hosting us. We are looking forward to Weatherford Walks 2024! #OneWeatherford #WeatherfordWalks #Community #Volunteer #GivingBack

Excited to have the opportunity to volunteer with RMHC. Research indicates supporting the entire family during a child’s critical illness can improve resilience, reduce stress and enhance wellbeing for several crucial reasons: ✅ Emotional Well-Being: A child’s illness affects the entire family - parents, siblings, and extended family members experience stress, anxiety, and fear. ✅ Practical Assistance: Supporting the whole family enables the sharing of responsibilities to alleviate the daily burden of families managing critical illnesses. ✅ Financial Strain: Community resources, counselling, and financial aid can ease the burden of medical expenses. ✅ Sibling Support: Emotional support for siblings of critically ill children can ease related disruption and anxiety. ✅ Parental Health: Support for parents to assist in the maintenance of their own physical and mental health can assist in the provision of better care. ✅ Family Dynamics: Critical illnesses strain family relationships. Open communication, counselling, and support groups can help maintain healthy dynamics and ease the strain on family relationships. ✅ Child’s Recovery: Improved positive health outcomes have been linked to the provision of a supportive family environment.
While big brother Aidan is in the hospital, the Kam family have a warm, comforting place to stay close to him at RMHC Toronto. "When I'm at the hospital, I'm so grateful to know my littlest ones are just a short walk away with their dad, and I don’t have a long drive home at night," says mom, Aimee. "And thanks to RMHC Toronto’s meal program. I know that my family is eating well, too, when I can’t be around to cook." Your support is life-changing for families like the Kams. Well, that was fun..! I decided to test an upcoming activation concept for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana by running a mini version myself. I’m happy to reconfirm that peer-to-peer fundraising is alive and well! 🎉 And no… it does not need to be tied to an event or special occasion. In a little over 24 hours, I exceeded my goal - raising $1,500+ from 24 donors. Here's what worked: ✅ Great Tech: A seamless and straightforward platform and donation process thanks to my BFF Fundraise Up. ✅ Individual Donor Recognition: Every single contribution was celebrated - personally and publicly! ✅ Regular Updates: I kept the momentum going with live progress shares. ✅ Personalization & Storytelling: Every message came straight from me, with personal anecdotes wherever possible. ✅ Mission Tie-In: I made it clear why donations were so impactful at this specific moment in time. ✅ Multichannel Communication: I reached out to my community through texts, social media, and email. What did I miss? Anything you’d add to ensure the official launch of this campaign is a success? #peertopeer #p2pfundraising #fundraising #rmhc #keepingfamiliesclose
We made it! The first day of Spring 🌸 As the days get warmer, the need for support at Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana grows. Summer is our busiest time of year as many families use the break to travel for treatments and surgeries. Mike McDonald and I have an exciting summer ahead welcoming another McDonald boy to our fam! 💙 As you look forward to relaxing days and family vacations, please don't forget those families who will be spending their summer in hospital rooms. These next few weeks are a critical time to rally the resources needed to help RMHC-CNI be fully prepared to support these families. I've set up a personal fundraiser to pay it forward and ensure we are able to provide a home away from home for everyone who needs it. Help me reach my goal:
Create a summer of support for RMHC-CNI families
