The Permanente Medical Group, Inc.’s Post

Kaiser Permanente Division of Research’s Vaccine Study Center is committed to helping people live longer, healthier lives. Their team of researchers gauge the long-term performance of a variety of vaccines, ranging from proving a new shingles vaccine remains effective for more than four years, to making sure flu vaccines stay ahead of ever-mutating strains. These results are informed by millions of data points from Kaiser Permanente’s research bank, the Vaccine Safety Datalink, a data-sharing collaboration with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other health care organizations nationwide. “Our ability to study real-world use of vaccines over time with large, diverse populations is a unique contribution to the field,” said Dr. Nicola Klein, director of the Vaccine Study Center.
