Amazing to be sharing the page with Karen J. Hewitt. Some great insights! Just remember risk can benefit your business if you capture it correctly.: Positive Potential: Upside risk focuses on the possibility of gains exceeding forecasts. Comparison is Key: It's often measured in comparison to a benchmark, like a stock index. So, upside risk looks at how much an investment might go up beyond what the broader market is expected to do. Not all Risk is Bad: Unlike regular "risk" which refers to potential losses, upside risk is a good thing. It's the chance of things going better than expected. TSM UK IIRSM AntiroMedia

Triple dollops of delight…. First dollop, when I carry on reading my April issue of the IIRSM sentinel magazine and find there’s an article on my favourite risk topic - Communication! It’s what we specialise in at LEADERLIKE LIMITED. Second dollop, when I realise I am a part of it! And third dollop when I see I’m sharing the page with the legend that is Keith Hole. Also enjoyed reading Hugh Maxwell’s article on Lumina Spark and Tim Power’s article on Building Wind Power Through Acquisition. Amazing to see such a focus on the people side of risk management! #communication #riskmanagement #peoplepower #leadership #engagement Rosie Russell IIRSM Co-President Phillip Pearson

Happy factories make great products and delight customers. The only way to drive sustainable change is to know where the system needs rewiring and then change the behaviour to run the upgraded system. Chasm was born out of a frustration at seeing organisations waste money either on non-sustainable operational improvement projects or ‘sheep dip’ training and development programmes, neither of which fix the underlying problems. Happy factories run on Chasm’s OpEx. We bring systems, control, excellence in manufacturing IT, training and the horsepower to make it happen. By putting in the right systems, giving people the skills to drive operational improvement, improving leadership and culture we enable factories to make sustainable change, improve productivity and increase profitability. #peopleandprocesses #manufacturing #wefixfactories #operationalexcellence
Chasm work with a select group of interim leaders who turn to us to support them to realise their vision which they just cannot deliver without expert horsepower. Kevin Anderson is one we have worked with on numerous occasions and have huge respect for. The link in the comments shares the story of first breakthrough project that Martyn and he worked on.

Really looking forward to spending some time today with Nick Drake-Knight and a team of leaders from one of his clients. Robert Walley and I are invited to share some thoughts from Bourton Group LLPs perspective around developing continuous improvement and how to tackle waste in operations. It’s going to be very nice to work with Nick again who I first met back in the mid 1990’s. We’ve come a long way since then! #lean #continuousimprovement #leanthinking #leanleadership

Building Industry Consultant / I help build great construction companies and collaborative project teams while elevating the industry as a whole
You've gotta play to your strengths! Manute Bol (the tall one) was a shot-blocking machine. Muggsy Bogues (the short one) could wind his way through traffic and distribute assists all over the court. Not the other way around! That said, they both participated in practices focused on the complete game to ensure they weren't an outright liability to the team in areas that came less naturally to them. This is as it should be with construction leaders. Play to your strengths! Love estimating? By all means, become a master and bring unrivaled value there. But, if you aren't comfortable managing staff, don't expect to be the head of the estimating team. Seek mastery in your areas of strength and competence in your areas of weakness. #strengths #construction #constructionleadership

Barrington Centre is an Asia-Pacific consulting company offering a diverse range of business and leadership programs including the ECM.
Day 1 of the Effective Consequence Management (ECM) Program delivered Barrington Centre and National Emergency Management Agency has concluded. A sample of key learnings from our Guest Speakers include: 1. How you engage with risk, is how we utilise consequence management in your decision making as a Leader in a crisis situation. 2. In ‘novel crises’ we need to optimise communities to come together to fill critical gaps. Achieve this by: · Re-purposing capability · Utilising the capability, expertise & resources in the Private Sector · Recognising that Community are the first responders in every event 3. Consequence Management is about unpacking VUCA 4. Ask yourself for the question: “What’s the issue to solve here?” This drives the Executive leadership style and decision making Thank you to Joe Buffone PSM GAICD, Mark Duckworth PSM, Janet Quigley, Jessica Cox and Keynote Speaker Chris Field for your insights and expertise. We look forward to Day 2 tomorrow. #consequencemanagement #complex #compounding #concurrent #crises #leadership #crisisleadership #ecm
